*****The Official Queen's XI vs Albion Rovers Thread*****

Shocker.

I was within an ace of joining the "Ally Out" side, I may yet do it.

Just before they made the semis draw, I didn't care who we got - because I don't see us getting past any of them!

The only thing Ally did right was to push Moshni up front. The rest is shameful.

I've always defended Ally but I can't anymore. Everybody, from manager to dinner lady needs to leave at the end of the seasonand no-one who has ever worked for rangers in any capacity should ever be allowed through the door. A complete root and branch clear out, napalmed. A new start, a new philosophy with all new faces. I don't care if we are up and down from the 1st to the 3rd division for a few years to do it. If we stick with what we have now were stuck with it forever.

Albion Rovers deserve minimal credit, worst team we've played in the last 2 years, their tactic was to constantly boot the ball to the half-way line and hope we wouldn't score when we got it back, they couldn't string 2 passes together and only counted 2 efforts from them today.

I applauded Annan off the park last year when they beat us because they played better football than we did,we couldn't deliver a decent ball and still could have scored any number of goals today.

We beat that team 4-0 at the start if the season with only two of ally's signings available. We played with pace and intensity! Now bearing in mind they are 4th bottom of the 3rd division I think it's fair to say they haven't dramatically improved.....we have deteriorated collectively and individually and the person who has to take the blame is the manager!

This time 3 years ago we drew away to PSV. Now we cant put the ball past a bunch of part timers who are out on their feet and collapsing from cramp after 70 mins.

I shudder the think what dundee hiv's will do to us if these bunch of overpaid prima donnas put in another performance like that (assuming we get through the replay)

So far, we have been lucky with the cup draws, but today, we hit the lucky jackpot in scraping a draw.

Our goal was very debatable, 9 times out of 10, that would have been ruled out.

I now think we have used up our share of luck and if, yes if, we get to the semi's, we'll be annihilated.

In the last 4 weeks, we have become worse than rotten, but who can motivate the team?, certainly not the present management team.

How bad does Aird and Daly have to play before they are dropped. I would have played Law today, but wait ......

The difference between Law then and now is staggering

At least they had tactics, can't say we had much in that department.

Been trying to get on RM since FT, not sure if the sites been down or my phones playing up. Anyway poor poor result today, relief at not crashing out but to need a replay against Albion is shameful. Very concerned that if we do manage to get past them, DU will destroy us in the semis. Bad day all round tbh.

Just back to the house after being at the game today. That was a tough shift as a supporter today, so frustrating to watch. We looked alright up until the Albion goal, after that I spent the rest of the match with a tense/sinking feeling in my chest. Struggling so much to break this side down. 'It happens in the cup' I tell myself, but no that was pish. It's like we have a short list of ideas and if they don't work we are not dynamic enough tactically to switch it up. And we simply don't play well enough as a unit.

I saw Mohsni make a shocking amount of poor passes today, and although he normally makes a fair few important tackles/interceptions, he needs to improve on his decision making and knowing when to make the pass.

I saw an awful lot of attacks where we held onto the ball for far too long. By the time we reach the 18 yard line, the whole of the opposing side are behind the ball and there's no room to pass it through. Even times where we had to defend and won possession, our counter attacking nearly always broke down with a poor pass or an aimless long ball.

Don't want to be 100% negative but struggling with anything positive to say... We're still in the Scottish Cup I suppose there's that.

Also, the guy sitting behind me (SW1, about 10 seats behind the dugout) coined his own catchphrase for the day, "this is terrible" he screamed about 90 times over the 90 minutes.

Teams play a high line against, have done since last season. NOT ONE of our midfield will look to make a run behind, neither will our wingers look to diagonal runs in behind the CHs, or our strikers behind the full backs.

We have absolutely no penetration in the team. The amount times Templeton/ Aird is 1v1 and turn and pass back or across ARRGH!

My other pet hate is when Aird, run inside, right across the pitch and passes it to the man 5 yds from him. I mean wtf, couldnt you have passed it from there ages ago! Rather than run in with it!

Yeah we don't seem to be able to go through the centre. You need some good movement and direct, scything passes and we seem incapable of that.

Now the dust has settled a bit and having backed the fire with my daily rag,I'll give my take on things, tin hat on.

We started the game with good pace and control and with better balls into the box we could have scored early doors but we didn't and they got a corner, which Jig set up for them to score. We pressed and pressed for the rest of the 1st half but poor crosses and players not reading others movement in the box let us down.

Thought we would have upped our pace in the 2nd but if anything,we slowed down.Still we persisted with pumping balls into the box without pace, which were meat and drink for their defence.Albion players were falling all over the place with cramp but we didn't put pressure on those that did,in fact Mohsni thought it a good idea to help get them on their feet again, good sportsmanship maybe but not his job.

I'm glad the Ref showed commonsense when Mohsni scored,it was never a foul on the keeper, players must be allowed to jump for the ball, which Mohsni did,if the keeper had punched the ball he would have cleared it but he opted to try to catch it,his mistake.

I've read/heard constantly today of how lucky Rangers were to get a draw,REALLY? Even though the balls into the box were largely poor,we should still have scored 4/5.Other than their goal what did Bell have to do the entire game,NOTHING.

Who among us fans would have thought of pushing Mohsni up front and bring Faure into defence?A tactical move by Ally that paid off. This again will be another opportunity for the 'Ally out' brigade but I ask you in all seriousness, was yesterdays result worse than Morton v Scum or Wigan knocking Man City out of the FA Cup?

Albion are hoping the return game will be played at Accies ground and their Manager is 100% certain they will knock Rangers out,I beg to differ,Albion had their chance yesterday and blew it,we will hammer them in the replay,of that Ive no doubt.

Incidently, I'm sitting on the fence were Ally's position is concerned but he's OUR Manager and the players are OUR Team so lets get behind them instead of constantly haranguing them, rant over.WATP.
