Whatever ones the board could spin to try and get out of the contract without being sued I'd imagine
Aye, there's probably more than a wee bit of truth in that !

Would be interesting to know what commitments the organisers were unwilling/unable to fulfil. Could it be the money split ?

Love him or hate him, but I doubt this situation would have arisen if King was still on the board.

Pretty solid thread.
Yes, it is. However it seems the board never even considered how the fan base would react to the Australia trip, and if they did they decided that they really didn't care anyway. It shows how distanced the board is from the support. Then there's that shambles of a " statement " , did someone's kid write that ?

Folk were saying the exact same thing about Davis even this season. I'm happy with his winner today but find this line of thinking absolutely insane.
Tav, Morelos and McGregor will be harder to replace than Connor Goldson.
Don't find it "insane" but agree he is replaceable but it will be difficult. As for Tav, don't know where we will find a replacement that's so consistent in both defending and attacking. Morelos ? Well there's the conundrum, his stats speak for themselves in Europe, a sensational player on his day. We'll probably never have a better shot stopper than McGregor, the guy just cannot be replaced to be honest, and I admit he does have his faults.

Sands was pretty solid, Ramsey showed some flashes of class now and again. Look forward to seeing more of Lowry and McCann, both exciting prospects. Bassey starting to show a wee bit gallousness, maybe a sign of growing confidence.

In what way was Bassey’s performance today “worse” than Barisic Midweek ? Genuine Question.
Good question, Bassey shows commitment, desire, effort. Can't say that Barisic shows the same. After Wednesday I really don't think it would bother me if I never saw Barisic play for us again. Don't think he's a bad person or anything, he just doesn't have what it takes to play for us.

" Backwards Barasic " is how I think about him, and not just because of last night. He's regressed at an alarming rate and I think we'd be lucky to get a transfer fee of any significance for him. He's probably finished at Ibrox now.
-
Surprised that Arfield isn't starting, he gives an attacking option that our other midfielders don't have.

Thanks for posting this. I was at the game, what a night it was. Willie Johnstone taking the pish, waiting for a challenge and kicking the ball off a defender for a throw in, then turning to the crowd cupping his breast and mouthing " diddy". Beckenbaur losing it as Stein was all over him, great atmosphere.

I'd like to think today's results will give the team a huge incentive to lift their game and get a good win tomorrow. Also reckon it would be a big psychological blow to the mhanks.

I think when the 4lhad tune and williewanker edited sweet Caroline video happened that was it. All bets were off
Agree totally, and I hope someone at the club is keeping a record of all the biased/hateful stuff from all sources to be used when required. For a chairman of another club to put stuff like this on social media is disgraceful but it does reveal the hatred towards us that is out there.

Hope this is a turning point today by instilling confidence and fight into the team. Have to admit that Lundstram no longer looks like the disaster I thought he was, Bacuna again showed some nice touches.

Said it before on here that our manager was a dynamic, box to box, high energy midfielder and one of the best in world at his prime but as a manager seems to prefer having safe and simple midfielders who play 5-10 yard passes, barely go forward and never shoot.
Arfield when at his best made a massive difference but he’s almost done now and why in the summer were we not looking to replace him.
Agree totally, Arfield linked the midfield and attack, made runs into the box and could score vital goals. We're missing him or someone like him massively.

Think Boydie has probably got it right and Borna is off. That might explain why he wasn't involved recently as well. He was trying to gee up the fans several times, he knew how important a result would be toady.
-
That was a rotten performance, no fight, no leadership, very few got pass marks. Very worried about Sunday, management need to find a way to motivate the squad as something is obviously wrong.

What these guys did was " racist " obviously, don't think many would disagree. I,m in my late sixties and I've done and said things in the past that I'm not proud of. However the thought of any of these guys losing their job and all that this would mean doesn't sit easy with me. I know people should take responsibility for their actions but this would seem to me to be an excessive punishment.

I said after the Dunfermline game I was disappointed with him, but still inwardly hoped he'd prove me wrong. However he's quickly approaching the point of no return I reckon and it would be bad for the club if he turns into a disastrous signing.,

I was at all the home games in 1972 but tonight I feel more emotional, what a club we are.
