If West Brom come in with a multimillion pound bid for Tav I think he'll be gone in January, but people won't realise how important he is to us until he's gone.

People are writing off the Euro run, but getting the group stages of the Europa league gives us 4 or 5 times the income winning the league does.
The league is absolutely the priority, but the European run gives us far more income to play with in strengthening the squad over the next couple of windows.
Weve upped the quality of player in the last window, and if we now focus on a handful of real first 11 quality we’re in a much better position.
I don’t think there’s been many ‘misses’ in terms of Gerrard’s recruitment.

Very much believe in this manager and I do think with his mentality we'll win the league in by May 2020.
However, I do have a huge problem with this interview. Talks about their goal being a "sucker punch" and how we "left ourselves open" to it. That is down to him and his team. Conceding these stupid goals from set pieces or high balls has been an issue from the start of the season and every time we have dropped points domestically these types of goals have been the reason along with average performances (which is when you need to defend well) and it hasn't looked like being resolved.
He also says the quality wasn't there but persisted with the same 11 for 80 minutes and it took conceding a goal for him to change it. If the players on the park aren't doing what you want then replace them accordingly considering he has a bench of players he has praised such as Arfield, Middleton, Halliday and Rossiter along with a guy he's spent a couple of million on in Eros Grezda.

Agree with OP. A lot of people going a little wild after tonight. Despite frustration at moves breaking down snd missed chances we actually should have beaten that mob if you take the 90 minutes into account and not just 20 minutes in the second half.
Considering people are going a bit OTT that we didn't beat Spartak Moscow let's just remind ourselves that 12 months to the day we drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock at Ibrox despite being 1-0 up with a penalty in stoppage time, we'd lost 2-0 to fucking Motherwell in a semi 3 dsys before and Pedro would be sacked after the draw. Perspective.

Novo for what he was and what he cost was by far one of the best pound for pound signings this millenium. Legend may be a stretch but he is no doubt a club icon and has produced some of the most important goals in the clubs recent history.
Some pretty important goals against celtic. His goals against hibs, Red Star, Falkirk, Panathanikos, the penalty against Fiorentina, as the article mentions, has given us more than what we paid. He had his moments and bad games aye but he turned up when we needed him.

The real work starts after Ufa and celtic. Get the result in Russia and get to the group stages then it's important we dont lose on Sunday either.
After these two matches and the international break we need to go on a winning run of say 8 or 9 games which we did do during that last title run. The 6 Europa League group games are spread out over just under 3 months and during that time we can build a good run in the league and aim towards winning the League Cup.
