IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT WE ARE ONLY TWO POINTS BEHIND celtic. WE ARE 8 POINTS OFF FIRST.

5 points if we win on Wednesday, to be fair.

In any case I can't see Hearts staying top for long, they've basically lost half of their starting eleven.

There's 29 games left relax, is it ideal? no, hearts won't keep up and that other lot will drop points as will we no doubt, if we are still 5th in march or 8 behind then we should really start to worry. But, it's not gonna happen because we have a good team maybe add one or even 2 in January then we just need to make better decisions on the pitch and play the ball on the ground a lot more than yesterday.

I honestly can not see Hearts, Kilmarnock or Livingston keeping up with the pace. Hibs I think will mount the best challenge out of the rest and it’s lookimg like Aberdeen are already struggling to keep up.

Must say that it’s a breath of fresh air seeing the league being the most competitive it’s been in years even at this early stage.

Cant see it being anyone but Rangers challenging for the league with celtic.

A lot of people are right to be expressing their disappointment with regards to not getting to the final of the league cup and for a stuttering start to the league but in my opinion there is no one better than Steven Gerrard  to take us to 55. I have seen more improvement in the past 6 months than we have seen in the past 6 years. He has only been in full time management for a short period of time and within that 1 transfer window he has managed to assemble a respectable squad capable in qualifying us into the group stage of Europa league and currently has us challenging for the league (2 points behind celtic after 9 games).

Are we the finished article? Of course not SG has signed up for a 4 year plan which will give him the opportunity to completely refurbish the squad and firmly put his mark on his style of play. For now he is still learning his trade and evidently making some mistakes i.e late subs or Morelos playing in the Ary match, Lee Wallace sub against Motherwell etc but he is only going to grow as a manager overtime and I fully buy in to the fact that over the course of this season we are going to have a lot of highs and certainly some lows but lets not forget where we were last season or the previous 5 years before that. I honestly think that if anyone is doubting his ability as our manager then  you need to remember where we have came from as a blind man can see the progress that we have made under his leadership.

The next transfer window (not likely January) will be the chance to start adding real quality to the squad as we certainly have the best core of players in recent years. For me this season can go either way and we may actually challenge celtic for the league or we might end up fighting it out for second place but with another few transfer windows under his belt I am confident that we are certainly on our way to winning 55. I am fully confident that SG is our best chance at stopping celtic from getting 10 in a row. For the first time since Walter we have a manager who understands what it is to be the Rangers manager. He does not come across as someone that will be content with 2nd place (McInnes Syndrome) and listening to his post match interview last night I think he is understanding that his squad is not good enough to maintain the high level of consistency that he is looking for or what is needed to successfully challenge on multiple fronts.

I actually agree with what you're saying but last night is still very much raw for me to think reasonably sadly!

The title is never decided in October however there are enough bumps in the road already to suggest the management team seriously need to buck up their ideas.

If we win 5 games on the trot then we're probably within a few points of first but its all ifs, buts and maybes.

Talk is cheap so its all very well managers and players say its not good enough, we've let the supporters down etc. etc. but the only thing that sets it right again is going on a winning streak.

Heard it all before next transfer window bla bla.

How many transfer windows do we need, how many seasons.

Our saving grace is the EL and that could be shot soon

There is still a way to go but this squad are not filling me with confidence

Get a decent run of form going and I may  change my mind.

Hearts injury problems are mounting up - Naismith is a huge blow to them if he is out for any amount of time. it will be interesting to see how they get on against Hibs now, but regardless of that game, I expect teams to slowly start to close on them.

Beat the scum,Livingston,Motherwell and Aberdeen something we haven’t done.

Yet we absolutely destroyed them and finished them by halftime at Ibrox, and that was when they had Naismith, Ikpeazu and Souttar.

What does that tell you?
