BlueSuedeSambas 54,272
If this is true then I'm happy. I think Black will be a revelation in a Rangers shirt.Everybody talks about him being a hatchet man, but last season I think he came on leaps and bounds as a footballer too.He bossed the cup final without breaking a sweat, Hearts looked comfortable until he went off in the semi final against Celtic and then there was this: He plays a 40-45 yard pass right on to Beattie's big toe there. If any of our players ahd played that ball in an Old Firm game we would still be talking about it now.

the goal machine 7,811
Would be delighted if we got him and Shiels. Two good SPL players in the third division! I think we've underestimated the pull that Rangers still has, even though we won't be in the SPL.

Blue Forever 179
RANGERS will sign Ian Black this week if the SFA hand the Ibrox club membership of the Third Division. The ex-Hearts midfielder has assured Ally McCoist he is committed to signing, even with the club preparing for life in the lowest rung of the Scottish senior game.Black’s willingness to move to Ibrox is a rare piece of good news for newco Gers following a summer of turmoil during which they were banished from the SPL.Record Sport first revealed McCoist’s interest in the midfielder and now the former Scotland B cap is ready to give the best years of his career to helping his new club re-establish themselves as a force in the Scottish game. Rangers will accept a 12-month transfer embargo as a condition of SFA membership but it does not kick in until September 1.That gives McCoist six weeks to rebuild his depleted squad following the departure of high-profile stars such as Scotland stars Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker and Northern Ireland internationals Steven Davis and Kyle Lafferty. The SFA are expected to rubber-stamp Gers’ membership this week and it’s believed Charles Green is also willing to pay fines totalling £160,000 imposed by Hampden bosses on oldco Rangers for bringing the game into disrepute.Meanwhile, Scottish League sources have confirmed there will be no loan Rangers next season when Green accepts the 12-month transfer embargo as a condition of SFA membership. It means that Sevco – unlike every other SFL club – will be banned from signing players on loan outwith transfer windows.Like Dundee and Livingston before them, Rangers will only be able to field trialists – for a maximum of three games – while the registration ban stands. In recent campaigns the cash-strapped Ibrox outfit have used the loan system to field players such as El-Hadji Diouf, Richard Foster and Kyle Bartley. The SFL, who have accepted Rangers as a new club, have confirmed they had to pay a £1000 application fee and another £1000 entrance fee in order to start life in the Third Division.Unless the SFA refuse to grant them membership, newco Rangers are now associate members of the SFL and won’t have voting rights for four years.http://www.<No links to this website>/football/spl/rangers/2012/07/23/ian-black-set-to-commit-future-to-rangers-in-third-division-if-sfa-hand-ibrox-men-membership-86908-23911625/
