JCDBigBear 10,831
This says so much about Wallace . AS RANGERS hopefully close in on promotion back to Scottish football’s top flight, one man in particular is looking forward to savouring what will hopefully be a very special moment. Captain Lee Wallace has seen it all from demotion to Division Three and then the climb back through the leagues to now, where the Light Blues hold a 12 point lead at the top of the Champiosnhip. There have been plenty of lows through that spell, and Wallace, who received immense criticism from many outside of Rangers for his decision to stay with the club, admits he is immensely proud to have stuck it out side by side with the Light Blues’ supporters. Speaking firstly about the criticism he took, Wallace explained: “It was something I never took notice of at the time. It was all about Rangers for me and how I could contribute and play my part in the club’s recovery to get back to the levels where we should be playing our football. “This is the club that I love and the club that I wanted to go on and do ever so well for. The fact is I came to this club to be a winner and to be successful – and I said that in my first press conference. “I arrived into a dressing room full of winners, and in five or six years’ time if a new player comes in and says the same, but with me being one of those winners then, of course, I will be over the moon. “The plan has always been to be successful for the club – and this is a club that traditionally is used to winning top-level silverware, and I’m no different. “I am totally aware over the last few years that we have been expected to win these leagues, and I don’t want personal praise or to act the hero in terms of what we’ve done over the last few years. “What I will take pleasure in is the fact that I have been there with the fans for the last couple of years and we have stuck it out together, and have done ever so well to get ourselves into a good position, although the league hasn’t been decided yet. “I have been really, really fortunate to play for this club for the length of time I have, and there are hopefully a lot more years ahead of me with us being successful at the top level.”

What a great quote: “This is the club that I love and the club that I wanted to go on and do ever so well for. You ask why does it bother us that Wallace isn't being picked for the squad. It bothers him, it bothers me and it bothers a lot of other fans, that hes by far the best LB Scotland have and hes not being selected. Well as aussieranger says, scum brown gets picked (granted they don't play the same position), but then you have shittaker being played at left back who is a total liability and the young Robertson was ok but has gradually faded. Not to mention that Strachan stated that he would not pick Wallace due to him being in the lower divisions, yet John McGinn has been called up. Buggleskelly 3,772
His loyalty to the Rangers cause is a rare thing in today's cash driven football world. In a nutshell , he's a magnificent Ranger.
tannerall 25,935
I strongly suspect, and have done from day 1, that Lee will go on to be one of my greatest Rangers heroes, and he's more than half way there already. I really can't praise the guy enough. One thing I will add now though is that I am sure he was never a real part of Ally's old boys clique, and personally suffered from it. More credit to him if true. We'll find out some day.
cr3_bear 14,892
All the shit we have been through will be worth it for lee when these two times come in his career - lifting number 55 and leading a Rangers team out to the champions league music blaring out at ibrox and not one person will be able to grudge him these moments when they come his way

In a nutshell , he's a magnificent Ranger. This. for too long we have watched players come and go claiming to " realise a dream on playing for rangers" when all they have done is pick up a pay packet 3 times what most other clubs in Scotland would give them whilst returning nowhere near the same value in effort and performances I must admit last season I doubted if his heart was in it , but quite clearly he was affected by the farce running about around him, he could have taken the easy way out and got a move .....but he didn't, he's here now to lead our club back to where we belong , said it in a number of posts already but I think ibrox will burst with pride when that man lifts the first of many league titles above his head as skipper
