Hummel International is a sportswear company based in Denmark. The firm was started in 1923 by the German Messmer family in the city of Hamburg. It was taken over in 1956 by Bernhard Weckenbrock, who moved its base to Kevelaer, North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1975, the company was bought by its Danish importer. Hummel currently manufactures apparel for football, futsal, handball, basketball, shinty and volleyball. The company also produces footwear for football and handball.

The company has manufactured kits for a variety of sports teams and from August 2016 will be the sponsors of the Danish national football team again.

Club teams which have worn the hummel brand include Vejle Boldklub, AGF and AC Horsens from the Danish football leagues, clubs such as RC Strasbourg, St Mirren and Polonia Warsaw from outside Denmark as well as the North Queensland Cowboys of the Australian NRL, the Richmond Tigersin the Australian Football League, and shinty clubs Newtonmore and Skye Camanachd. Aston Villa have worn hummel kits for two separate stints in the 1980s and the 2000s and Tottenham Hotspur wore hummel kits in the 1980s. Glasgow Rangers are rumoured to sign a 3 year deal starting 2018/19 season.

The hummel logo is a stylized bumble bee, as hummel is German for bumble bee.[1] The company's name is derived from the popular Hamburg greeting ("Hamburger Gruß"), which is known throughout northern Germany.

I've still got the euro 96 Denmark top with no 11 on the back. Can't remember if it was Hummel though, will have to dig it out.

Is that it above lol?

I have the home one though.

So if the money offered is true we should have declined it and took a million quid a year off Nike because well it's nike?

Ffs I'm only into designer stuff but I'm also in my 30s and don't really cut about in any football gear. I honestly canae get upset or annoyed over this. We've had diadora and umbro. Umbro made some of our best ever kits and diadora were in during this leagues most memorable ever title win. I had everyone of those diadora kits. They were shite but it's only a fucking strip

And diadora were the ones who gave us the orange strip so many people wanted, Money is all that matters in all this and if the figures being branded are true I'm all for it.

Couldn't care less about the brand, could be Harris Tweed for all I care .The details of the deal are all that's important.  The board would have made the best deal possible.

The benefits of  a Nike or Adidas is that they have stores worldwide with dedicated football sections in each of them and I'm not sure exactly where and how Hummel market their kit.

Ok maybe Harris Tweed is a step too far..

Don't care who makes it, as long as it's blue and has a Rangers badge I'll be buying it.

The club simply has to go with the supplier giving us the best deal money wise, what do people not get about that?

On side note I hope they do good training and leisure gear. This is an area where we could potentially sell a lot as the stuff in the megastore the now is jumble sale shite.
