A glamour tie at home still doesn't cut it for many on here. Every year there is a clamour for a team away in the shittip of the Midlands or Yorkshire - in order to spend a fortune and get absolutely mortalled. That's all that counts, who can blame them as friendlies are not worth anything apart from match fitness.

An ok fixture to start . None of the big EPL teams will be set up for that .At that stage of pre season you don't want a really difficult starting game where you get hammered. It would be good to get a big name just before the start but the  big EPL teams tend to have tours abroad to make some money . Hopefully we go something similar next year.

By 6th of July the world cup is still 9 days from finishing. No big team will be playing pre season games by then.

We can only play what's available and Wigan is a good test wether people like to admit that or not.

Don't know who people were expecting to play tbh

Fair point. We might get a good pre season game before the EPL starts. We could postpone a league game just like celtic have done and get us in some decent money.

Fuck that. We need to get to at least the last Europa qualifier and a good start in the league.

I wouldn't cancel any league game to play a daft friendly.

Don't know about anyone else but playing brechin or Barca doesn't bother me I go to see Rangers
