Croats Kicking Off

Ace

You just know that the mob from the east end, with the full backing of their friends in the Scottish government, media and football authorities, will extrapolate a safety issue from last night events that they will use to make a case for increasing their allocation for the Old Firm game.

See to be truthful, if I put any points across to police scotland in an email about this do you think I would get a reply of why they weren't monitored or escorted and why were they allowed to roam about freely when it is known to most what there fans would have been like.

Or would it be stupid as they won't shoulder any of the blame.

You shouldn't have to, should have been the first thing the club done this morning.

I still cannot understand why they (especially with their reputation) were allowed to move without police escort and allowed to attack Rangers fans including bairns. I thought we had a security officer who arranged things with the Glasgow polis for the safety of fans attending our games.

When the tarriers come to Ibrox it is sealed off with metal barricades ffs, and yet these wankers were left to do as they please. I would have thought someone from Rangers would have been trying to get our side of the story out because the BBC and the like are running this as a negative story without anyone that I can see challenging what happened. :headwall:

I have respect for any supporters that go to the aid of a Bear in trouble but not those with knives (if it was knives)

A knife is the weapon of a coward, even a bottle unless you’re in trouble an outnumbered.

From what I saw on here no one was wearing colours mostly guys in black tops and shorts, there must be some Bears on here who could clarify what went on.

Always plenty of police around Ibrox and surrounding area on match day, even the other side of the motorway , yet a 20 to 30 strong mob can get themselves to Edminston Dr/PRW without being noticed and not a polis in sight. It’s clear to see how this was allowed to happen and it’s not Rangers fans fault.

Incompetent police who don't know how to handle anything that is not online.

I criticise the board for a lot, but they can't just comment on something they probably have zero facts on.

He wasn’t saying they should comment, he was saying they should contact the police directly and ask them to explain their strategy last night. Which they should.

surely the Board should make efforts to find out the facts then to enable a robust response...and in a timely manner, not next week when the news is dead

Except, they do have facts.

Facts there was a high risk of this scenario occurring, and they done absolutely nothing to protect Rangers fans nor the general public anywhere across Glasgow all day long.

I walked around the ground before the game and mentioned that it was weird how little police were there. I assume they all got called off to the incident.

Apart from the cops with the riot vans the only other ones I saw before the game were out the front of the Main Stand ticketing some 40 year old moron in one of those fake Hummel tops holding a can of Dragon Soop.

They should be giving the Police both barrels this morning demanding to know why a known hooligan support was allowed to swan up PRW with no Police in sight and also why they were allowed to socialise with the hooligan element of Scum FC.

:tu: I disgust myself every time I say this, but we need to be more like the taigs with this stuff. Don’t even wait til blame is being apportioned, straight on the offensive. Our fans are the victims of poor policing, that is the issue. They should be answering questions, not us.

Totally ageee on the subject of a blade, if you carry a blade you're looking for trouble, if you take one to a sporting event you're a fucking cretin who deserves jailed.

There's a lot of fault here with the Police etc but theres simply no defending anyone who takes a knife out with them, none.

The SLO should have been liaising with police in advance of the game give the Croats history of looking for trouble

The Police should have been co-ordinating with their football intelligence colleagues and with the Club Head of Security. It really has nothing to do with the SLO at that stage, other than to communicate arrangements.

It wouldn't take long to find evidence of their previous behaviour. This is a massive failure by Police Scotland and they shouldn't get carte blanche to smear Rangers fans after their incompetence.

There is something not sitting right that this was allowed to happen. If its not incompetence then its something more sinister.

in all seriousness though, given that they were a relatively small group then how do you find them in the first place to track them? Send the police round all the pubs looking for Croats? Different scenario if you had hundreds or thousands of fans all in a fanzone in George Square who are easily identified and can be shepherded, but not just a few dozen who may well just blend in with everyone else. Were they even wearing colours?

This is where someone tells me they were all congregated in George Square singing the Croatian national anthem in full Osijek kits

Would not be surprised if the Polis came out and blamed Rangers fans for blocking  their vans who were trying to rush to the scene of the disturbance.

Well, it's their fault if our fans can't get out of the way of imaginary vans.
