East Enclosure Row N 2,848
I don't get this Lee Wallace "legend" patter at all. I think he stayed in 2012 because he was on decent dosh and couldn't get better elsewhere. He used to be the fastest sprinter in the country. That was a long while ago. As a captain - he was completely silent and a waste of an armband. As a player - journeyman level for me.

His CV reads like somebody who could be considered in that regard - Over 300 appearances, 3 SPFL titles, 3 League Cups, 2 Scottish Cups and the lower league titles Obviously there is the caveat that a lot of fans grew frustrated with McCoist’s favouritsm to him in the lower leagues when he clearly wasn’t the player that he was previously but on the flip side of that if we were the outsiders looking in at another club who had gone through what we did and were being run like we were but they still had a boyhood fan who stuck with them when basically all his team mates fucked off and attempted to Captain them back to where they were previously then most people would look at positively or label it heroic or legendary. I don’t think I would consider him a legend but I’m just putting it out there for discussion. I’d have originally said no for the fact that his contract was pretty substantial for a guy in the twilight of his career. That post is a pretty strong case, though. I’d maybe throw McLeish in there for discussion. His trophy haul, and the two titles he gave us were incredible. Obviously had a couple of stinkers too, though. He just seemed to time his tackles brilliantly and rarely got done by an opposing player the way Edouard made Worrall dance about the other day Ivybank

He will ALWAYS be a club legend. The way we treated him after the Murty incident was a disgrace and Gerrard had better allow him the send-off at Ibrox he deserves before the end of this season. Mols was operating on a different level from any other striker I've seen at Rangers up until that point, I could even say he's one of the best strikers I've ever seen full stop. Fully agree with this. Also there are loads of folk come out with this, never a captain, and just sat back and never defended the club pish. The guy was forever taking the press conferences and coming out defending the club at a horrendous time, when even the management and board were cowering behind their desks. Was a far better player and captain than tav will ever be. Deserves a decent send off from the fans.

Big Al 55 9,305
Firstly you need to define legend! Most talented, biggest heart, most loyal, gave up big move elsewhere, stuck by us, left not to burden us with their top tier wages, what they won, what they nearly won. For every loyal player, there’s an alternative view of a player who couldn’t get a move elsewhere or was raking it in where he was, etc.

NixonRFC 1,441
Few warriors who I loved like Novo and Prso and classy players like Numan, Klos, Mols & de Boer but Barry Ferguson apart I'm no sure I ever felt any have been true legends like the 9IAR team, there will be plenty to younger fans but 9IAR was my era, football changed in the 90s and by the time the Millennium came around it had changed beyond recognition, we always felt like a local club, a club where you felt you had a lot in common with the players, after Advocaat arrived and superatars appeared all that changed, then they social media boom and players distanced themselves from socialising with fans and public places in general.
