I lived in Brussels for 6 years in my younger days and played for Royal Brussels British FC. We were a founding member of the Brussels and District amateur league back in 1933 and as such got awarded royal ascent from the Belgium royal family allowing us to have Royal in our name. We were an expat team and of the 100 or so members c. 30 of us were Scots back then. I couldn't understand why we were almost all bears but then someone explained that most tarrier leaning Scots joined British United, despite them being a few divisions below us as we had Royal in our name.
