I actually fancy England with that team. Trippier is a bit baffling though, I dont know if he's trying to recreate the success they had with Young but it's weird.

Two holders basically, sit in a bit and let Croatia's three knock it about and hit on the counter with Kane coming deep and Sterling and Foden in behind.

Leaving Sancho out, playing Trippier instead of an actual left back, all of these things might seem like a stroke of genius if they work, but has Southgate ever given the impression of being a football man of genius?

Southgate has rarely given the impression he’s aware that he’s England manager.
