I understand the scorched earth approach of dropping everyone, play the B team…but the reality is where does that stop if we get smacked in Amsterdam or even worse get beat by Aberdeen at the weekend?

The team, including management team collectively shat the bed at the weekend at the very worst time they could have.

Unfortunately we need to trust them to resolve it themselves.

You do realise that the goals we conceded were not as a result of pace and pressure but our absolutely shocking defending and decision making, the fenians batteeed us in the 3 0 game last season, they didn’t even have to do that on Saturday.

we beat ourselves

That's the worst part about it, we would all obvioulsy still be angry and depressed at losing to them if they outplayed us, that happens in football. However, to perform like we did at the weekend was disgraceful, we legit let them score 4 easy goals.

Aye - I'd agree we beat ourselves, but even though the tarriers didn't pour it on like the 3-0 game, they still played a lot faster and a lot higher than we face in Europe. That's no excuse for the mental fragility that was exposed throughout the team on Saturday though. That's a whole other issue and one which Gio has got to shoulder a lot of blame for

I don't give a fuck if we get pumped by Ajax on Wednesday. There are bigger, structural issues at the club right now that need resolved ASAP. If Gio isn't willing to get his hands dirty and do that, then he can fuck off anawl.

The logic just isn't there mate. Drop them all for the competition they worked to get in because they got beat off celtic but then bring them back in and expect them to be firing and motivated away to Aberdeen after the youths get pumped in Amsterdam?

After PSV he certainly wasn't "relaxed", he inferred he wanted more in the door and spoke about how the money would be great for the club etc. Fast forward to the deadline closing and he's suddenly "relaxed" and speaking about how they built the squad with all competitions in mind? Must think we all button up the back.

It's fucking naive to think he's calling out the board, attracting a sideshow and causing unrest 1 or 2 days before going to celtic away.

No manager in the world would be that daft.

No, it's not because they got beat by Celtic - significantly better Rangers sides have been beaten by Celtic at their stadium over the years. The manner of the defeat is why they should be taught harsh lessons.

Pochettino called the board at Spurs out after the January window in the season they went on to reach the Champions League final, so they were in the middle of a key season and a few weeks before they were due to play Dortmund in the CL last 16

Part of that comes from a mental weakness of knowing what's facing you, IMO. There's a part of me that does wonder if some of the criticism and comparisons between the two sides were over the top because the goals were so terrible, so horribly self inflicted. But it's hard to look past how much of a rabbit in the headlights we were, almost like we were beaten before we even set foot on the park. Unforgivable.

And how are they both doing?

Poch is a joke who somehow didn’t win the league in the most 1 team league in the world, and Rodgers is bottom of the EPL with 1 point from 6.

Naive to think he’d say anything other than he’s happy with the squad going into an OF and then the first CL game in 10+ years.

What's the relevance to how they're doing now to them complaining about transfers

Pochettino took Spurs to the CL final that year and finished 4th in the PL (after he made those comments)

Rodgers has been a good manager for Leicester + won them an FA cup but they've completely fucked him with the downsizing

In that it’s not something done regularly, and that it never really works out well.

Again the logic isn't there. No matter what you think of them right now they're the ones that got us back into that promise land of the Champions league and you'd tell them they aren't playing in it because they got pumped at Parkhead, where better Rangers teams have been pumped before. Why do they have to be punished for it even? They got pumped at Parkhead in a manner that many Rangers teams have been pumped in before. Its a fucking ludicrous suggestion.

And if Gio had done it on the eve of an old firm Pochettino's still wouldn't be comparable.

I expect Ajax will be confident but we can get a draw or even win it but our keeper has to do his job and we must defend that area around the centre spot as we lose goals from low crosses coming in that area that should be cleared easily. Also we mustn’t switch off at corners.

We were well beaten on Saturday but all four goals were down to goalkeeping errors and soft defensive errors with too much space between back 4 and defensive midfield. This can be remedied.
We have a good recent record against Dutch/Belgian teams. I think we can get a result.

Agree we have to go with McLaughlin.

Consistently argued goalkeeper needed to be prioritised and that as good a back up he is, McLaughlin's never good enough for what we want to be as a club. Bar Saturday he'd done ok though.

We've made our bed now and need to lie in it. Have to give him an opportunity to redeem himself.

He will never know the scoreline anyway, he doesn’t actually watch us. Big shitebag admitted to not watching any of Saturdays game because he had us beat before a ball was kicked
