Inigo 33,322
Am I right in thinking there will be exaggerated difference in income between us and them because we both take in retail cash differently. Theirs is posted as turnover whereas ours is posted as lump sum profits? Also because they have higher player sale income? And because of their larger ground? He says hopefully. Their profits are impressive regardless.

If we were to somehow get into that for a couple of years and they never the whole thing is switched round. The differentials UEFA have set up between their competitions regarding the money available actually help to destroy competition in smaller leagues. So effectively neutralising European income, they seem to be operating at a higher level of income. I assume player sales, different method of posting retail income and a bigger stadium contribute. It's important for us to have a bigger stadium with more ST holders to try to redress that at least.

Critical we have to win the league this season, yet here we are 5 games in knowing the man in charge won’t take us there. If people thought the first few years being back in the league was bad, wait until the next couple when they hoover up even more trophies and cash as we stumble from pillar to post trying to offload a 31 year old Dessers in 2026 after 12 goals in his Rangers career when we were meant to be “back”. Horrific management from the very top, right to the bottom and the fans are the ones that deal with the consequences the most. Probably a godsend Scotland loses its automatic CL spot season after next. Because we’re just handing them £30-35million a season from CL alone, plus if they win a game it’s an extra £3million per win. 55 needs to be a lesson. We absolutely fucking blew it and it amounts to gross mismanagement by everyone involved. We could’ve pulled away from them and put some clear daylight between us, instead we’re back to 18/19 in terms of financial gulf (with a worse manager). People talk about how much they spend, but they made a profit from transfers in 6 of the last 7 seasons. We started doing a good job with the sales of Patterson, Bassey, Aribo etc but we don't have many players with high resale value left and the more recent signings average around 26 so they won't have huge resale value either. Amazing how their most successful period in history and our worst (2000-current day), coincides with them completing their ground and having a run at bigger attendances… Inigo

Gman36 3,477
We just have to admit it, they're operating way above us financially, and have been for some time now. Wouldn't say they are run amazingly or anything but are astute. We are all over the place though. You win the league ans sell players when their value is at their peak you make millions. Its hardly a master plan. So long as we fail to win the league we are fucked, that's the reality. Losing 30 million a season to them is a disaster then you factor in we let 2 of our highest valued players walk for nothing while they get 25 million for 1 is gross mismanagement. We get a board in place who are professional and understand football we would half a chance. Unfortunately we have and have had frauds who think 2nd is acceptable. Open your eyes, we won 5 titles from 2000-2012, 3x of them on the final day of the season. By contrast, they won 7 titles, most of which they won by a big margin and weren’t down to last day heroics. There’s a reason we’ll be behind them in trophy count soon. Admin etc didn’t help, but starting at -£25million to them every 5 years is a massive factor that was crippling us long before that happened. So out of 12 titles we won almost half of them? it’s actually showing that from admin onwards it is the reason we aren’t able to almost go 1 for 1 with them Edit - I am going to add to this, you then have 2008 which had we had a competent FA then the only outcome of the league title would’ve been a Rangers league win. if you take it from the fenians ending 10 in a row then we’ve actually won the same amount of titles from SPFL inception to admin. if you factor in 2008 and admin season then it’s arguable we would be ahead, so I can’t really agree with your point to be honest J-Maestro and Rowley Birkin
