I’m a bit fucked off by this tbh, screams there’s a couple million to keep you happy while we sell him for a lot more than we agreed with you. Quality player who would’ve fetched a good amount of profit in a few years.

Then again we can pay the £5m straight up and he breaks his leg in the first game. Nothing is guaranteed.

Bayern: “You have first refusal on Tillman, unless of course we change our mind.”

If, as reported, we get £2m for nothing after Bayern cancelled the deal, then I take this back unequivocally.

That’s clever.

Then we likely lose out completely. Can't force the player to join. If we'd triggered the clause and Tillman told us to fuck off, we're left with no player AND no compensation for him.

Think Bayern must've got the hint we were going to flip him.

Think the danger was us buying him to make an immediate profit this summer. Only way Tillman would've signed on a temp basis.

Can't. Players now can't be transferred twice within 16 weeks. Had we signed him last week when the window officially opened, we couldn't sell him again until October.

When did that rule come into place? Thought it was playing for the club rather than a transfer? Either way it could've easily been Boumsong 2.0

Last year (at least March 2022)

Fair enough. Seen alot of talk with other clubs doing flips this summer so thought it was still a thing.

Could still do a Boumsong though.

'Bridge transfers' are verboten so it's just laziness if people are reporting flips. There's not even any ambiguity in it where there might be a 'but' to work around it. To the best of my knowledge, the only exceptions are where a player returns from loan (technically a transfer as registration goes from loan club back to parent) and then the player is sold that window.
