The problem is that the long term project is being overseen by the same people who took us from a position of strength and turned us into a project. They can't fix this. Gerrard's time was mixed, but he had our players playing for the team, he knew what it meant and had the force of personality to make things happen, we also recruited reasonably well with his signings maturing into that 55 league win, and the run to UEFA cup final and Scottish Cup win.
