dont mean to sound stupid here, but the price quoted will be the 11m they paid for him in the summer and the rest of the fee will be the remainder of his contract say its a 3 year deal on 2m a year then thats how he becomes worth 17-18m in the clubs eywes as that was the original outlay for the player but most clubs will accept slightly less .

the reason they paid so much for him was because he was THE stand out player for argentina at the u23 championships i believe.

I would. If Rangers were offered that to buy Zarate, there wouldn't be any other option. Every time I have seen him, he tears the defenders apart. He's also young.
