Popular Post BillySastard 238
The last time we won the league, we had some very disappointing results. We drew with Inverness both home and away. Drew with the tarriers once and lost to them twice. Also lost to them in the Scottish Cup. Lost to both Hibs and Hearts. And lost to Dundee Utd. We still brought 54 home. We are currently undefeated and have one foot in the Europa League. Today was highly frustrating, but we got a point and I for one won't be losing the plot at this stage. ForeverAndEver 71,488
It's not that we've dropped points, it's the fact it's two very similar circumstances, in only 3 games hammer93, Vanoli, Jack The Flipper and 1 other

Popular Post SIRB_72 4,000
The real work starts after Ufa and celtic. Get the result in Russia and get to the group stages then it's important we dont lose on Sunday either. After these two matches and the international break we need to go on a winning run of say 8 or 9 games which we did do during that last title run. The 6 Europa League group games are spread out over just under 3 months and during that time we can build a good run in the league and aim towards winning the League Cup. bluebell82 243
Its obvious we're still a work in progress...Gerrard, or any other manager, cannot resolve our deficiencies in a couple of months - we are moving in the right direction overall though and thats the main thing! DW1872 1,207
I think we're ahead of where most people thought we would be by this early stage of the season. There seems to be some real solid foundations to keep building from. Today was disappointing and the formation didn't work although it was right to try it and many on this forum have been wanting to see it for some time. We didn't play well at all but took a point which wouldn't have happened last season or the one before. Are we the finished article? Of course not. Are we heading in the right direction finally? Of course. Blumhoilann and Aubie92
Marky. 6,927
Delighted with progress, but hugely disappointed by how it went today. We have looked comfortable and solid previously, but looked lost today. Need to see improvement, but you don't really get to just try things out against celtic. It's not the time to not really show up, especially when they are heading backwards. SeparateEntityMyArse

STEPPS BOY 73,916
Last year we had drew with Hearts and beat by hibs in first four games. a similar start. We really should be going to the theatre of Screams with 9 points next week but tbe same problems in defence have us behind them and 4 behind hearts. DW1872 1,207
Today proved not to be the day right enough but I still maintain that it was right to try. Trying it at home in a comfortable game Vs Hamilton or something wouldn't give a real indication. Also today we defended ok apart from Tav losing his man twice. Individual error. I hope we revert to a back 4 because Goldson and Katic look solid as a pair.

No it wouldn't prove anything - but it would have given it a chance to bed in and players a chance to get to grips with it a little. theclothmonster

I was gagging for him to play 3-5-2 for ages - but I wouldn't have done it for the first time in an away fixture - and I would definitely have changed it at half time. I'm glad he tried it and wouldn't be against playing it again as it's good to be able to change tactics but I hope we revert to a back 4 for the next two (massive) games.
