Looking forward to the queue at ticket office when the smart cards don't work.

    Totally!!

I'm usually one of the 'arrive 5 mins before kick off crowd', but was thinking the same and going to make this an hour before, just to avoid that scenario, and to take it in that we are back inside for a full house - plus just can't wait to hear that CL anthem again!!

  3. Contract lengths are interesting for two veteran players - McCarthy on a four year deal, and Hart on three years. That's a lot of money tied up in, relatively speaking, older players. If they fail, they'll be really hard to shift without a significant pay off.

Ans as has been said above, never been so happy the day we moved from signing Barton's and Beattie's and moved to picking up guys like Aribo, Kamara and Alfie

Clearly both upgrades on what they have, but not exactly playing the long game or setting themselves a foundation for the future.

And of the three that have moved into the starting eleven, two are wingers, which is one of the places they actually have cover with Forrest and the kid Dembele -so only Starfud addresses an area of need???

Maybe their Chief Exec thought he could add another couple of wingers into the starting 15

No keeper, no fullbacks, no central midfielder and no replacement striker if Edouard leaves.

They also don't have anyone to replace the leadership Brown gave them on the park - and as much as he was a Neanderthal - he was the one that pushed them to get late winners, something that never felt like happening at Tynecastle on Saturday.

    They are fucked!

  5. Got to question their signing approach

Japanese boy looks very similar to Abada - someone who will be just fine playing in a warm weather league, low on hammer throwers, with no pressure to win every game. So roll on freezing January nights in the pishing rain at the Tony Macaroni!!!

They also lack a leader on the pitch - McGregor might be their best player, but he really doesn't have the personality or character to galvanise a team.

Probably string a few results together over the next few weeks - but I don't think the intensity of an Old Firm and the players they are going to face has dawned on Angie yet!!

Lou Macari era was a similar level .

Pat Bonner, Tony Mowbray, Gary Gillespie, Dariusz Wdowczyk, Brian O'Neil, Gerry Creaney, Charlie Nicholas, Rudi Vata, Frank McAvennie, Stuart Slater, Willie Falconer, Paul McStay, Mike Galloway, Lee Martin, Pat McGinlay, Mark McNally, John Collins, Gordon Marshall, Paul Byrne, Brian McLaughlin, Peter Grant, Stuart Gray, Simon Donnelly, Malky MacKay, Tommy Boyd

Yeah, probably a similar standard - Better keepers then, Collins and McStay similar to McGregor and Christie, a few big names, but mostly in their twilight years

    Both pish

  7. Their bench last night: Barkas, Ajeti, Rogic, Bolingoli, Urhoghide, Shaw, Robertson, Doohan, Forrest and Montgomery.

They have Starfelt and Furuhashi arriving, Griffiths, if he's not loitering near a play park, and in October at the earliest, Julien likely back from injury.

Christie's contract is up at Christmas, and it looks like Edouard is heading out the door some time soon.

I don't think I can remember them ever being in this state before - and that's assuming a couple of their new signings hit the ground running and Julien comes back fit - and even then, it's still a paper thin squad to back up injuries and rotate a squad through Europe.

As it stands, and even taking off the blue tinted specs, I'd be struggling to think of any of their players that I would want us to take on a free that could add something to our squad!

  8. Well Abada is already disappearing inside himself - keep forgetting he's playing.

And Edouard really does look disinterested - I know a lot of their mob say he's downed tools, but I found it hard to believe a guy looking for a move would do that, but so far he's offered nothing.

Defence looks makeshift, Welsh loves a mistimed slide tackle, though not really getting put under too much pressure - Diddyland really don't have much to offer in terms of a goalscoring threat.

In saying all that, Ange is apparently delighted, reckons they're looking really good value for getting a point away from home!!

Don't really know the Colts team, so just wondering if your team selection is in number order - just wondered who was our number 7, was - looked a decent player, as was the lad with the dodgy green boots that came on - who I assume was Lowry?

And a really daft question - there was a South American looking lad out at half time who looked a bit older than the rest, was wearing Castore kit - but didn't come on or appear to be on the bench. Did I imagine that, or was he coaching staff??

Along the top where it says your name/Rangers number click there and you should be able to see purchase history as 1 of the tabs on the next screen

In the purchase history of those successful there seems to be an order which then allows you to go and buy the tickets.

Cheers - didn't get one, was the same for the UEFA Cup Final, despite the same seat for 25+ years  :headwall:

Thankfully I'll get 'free' access to Rangers TV

Didn't realise Gotze played with PSV.

They also have the boy Dumfries from the Dutch National team - though he didn't play and wasn't on the bench - so assume he is being given time after the Euro's.

Not sure if they had other players in the tournament - so technically a weakened team  :p:

Edit: Cody Gakpo (PSV Eindhoven), Donyell Malen (PSV Eindhoven), were also at the Euro's, with the former (who was on the bench tonight) seemingly a bit of a prodigy and very highly rated?

Abada performance been labelled ‘incredible performance’ by DR online. After reading the thread I’m now confused.

Was the player I paid most attention to during the game.

From an objective point of view:

+ He was one of their better players. He has a decent cross ball on him if he's not under pressure, He made a couple of intelligent runs off the ball, one of which could have been impactful but for the lack of talent around him. He was relatively cool with the goal and didn't panic or fluff his lines (which Edouard did when presented with easy chances)

    - He's very lightweight. Was pushed off the ball easily by very average Danish defenders and I thought shat out a few tackles - on a plastic pitch in February, or the heat of an Old Firm game, I think he could disappear. Doesn't look like a direct goalscoring threat. Didn't see the pace or turn of speed I was expecting. Crossing under pressure was nothing special.

Last night he was better than Turnbull, who I thought was invisible but not as good as Christie (who was probably their best player) or McGregor.

First game - so who knows, but it was anything but an incredible performance and he doesn't concern me on that performance

  13. Going by the camera angle, as they go to take the free kick Barkas was standing right in the spot where the ball goes in the net - did it go through him or did he jump out the way???

Slightly worried he's shown his hand too soon and is so bad that even Ange realises he can't play again

Danes certainly looked average but I think have a couple of players coming back and will surely give it a go over there

  14. Think they are missing a few in defence tonight as they look shaky as fuck - seems to be a team very much in transition.

Be interesting to see how they approach the second half - hopefully try to go for  it a bit - that Sellick defence is dreadful, so with the kid in there you would hope they would try to take the game to them.

The Abada guy has a decent cross on him but was easily knocked off the ball - not sure he is a guy who is going to like the physical nature of the Scottish game

  15. Great that we are starting to have the chance to get back to our seats

But wish to fuck they would stop talking about season ticket holders who are not getting in as having 'free' access to Rangers TV - when they're actually paying more than double the price of any punter in the street

Happy to take it on the chin if I don't get in and others do, but save me the pish about getting something 'free' as compensation

Certainly wasn't on purpose but I do think Hamilton was at fault.

I tend to agree - I think on the link I posted, Brundle alluded to it being a bit like a professional foul in football. Hamilton was well aware he was pushing what was acceptable, taking it right to the limit, and probably knowing that if he was penalised it would likely be 'a yellow'.  Verstappen was no doubt thinking Hamilton had yielded previously, so he was going to be aggressive as he's benefitted where he's done that before.

Fascinating to think that all this happens at 200mph on a corner - but I suppose that's why they're the top drivers and what makes the sport worth watching

Should make for an interesting season and will definitely be worth watching at the next race if they're are both on the front of the grid - reckon we might see them both off the track before the first corner!!!

Is your essay meant to change our minds?

Damon Hill said on live tv he sees no option but to give Hamilton a penalty.

Not particularly, I just thought it was interesting that away from both teams most people thought it was a racing incident, including Damon Hill - it was suggested that 'all' the drivers felt he was at fault, that simply wasn't true.

    Happy for you to disagree.

Personally I thought they were both at it - probably 60/40 Hamilton, so the ten second penalty seemed appropriate.

Complaining about it as an inadequate punishment, as Horner did, seemed to go against the majority of informed opinion.

It's amazing, all the ex drivers on the telly yesterday said hamilton was at fault, the stewards said Hamilton was at fault hence the penalty, but there are still people on here thinking they know better, this place really is something else when it comes to self proclaimed experts

Who were the ex drivers saying Hamilton was at fault. Quick trawl of the papers this morning seem to suggest most drivers (current and ex) thought it was a racing incident ??

Alonso also said neither driver was at fault. “It was an unfortunate moment of the race, but nothing intentional or nothing that any of the two drivers did wrong, in my opinion. So that was an unlucky moment, I guess.”

Charles Leclerc, who was immediately behind the pair when they tangled, described the collision as a “racing incident”.
“It is very difficult to judge it from the car, we are very low so it’s difficult to see,” he said. “Everything went very quick. Obviously I could see there was quite a bit of things going around in front of me

Formula 1 legend Damon Hill has defended Lewis Hamilton over his crash with Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix on Sunday. On the incident itself, Hill added: “I think it was predominantly a racing incident but I do think that Lewis was the aggressor in that sense, but he was trying to pass him.

Button went on to add that it's tough to really decide a definite answer on who was at fault, concluding with, "Max left enough room, but at that speed, it's difficult to get around the corner on the inside. He had to back out and miss judged the apex which is fair enough because he's coming at such a speed from a new angle. It's a difficult one to have a definitive answer on who was wrong. I get the penalty because he put someone in the wall but it's a tricky one."

Martin Brundle gives.a good analysis, https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/f1/12358995/verstappen-hamilton-crash-brundles-final-verdict

Not seen any current or ex driver (beyond the Red Bull team) saying Hamilton was out of order

Reminds me a bit of football where if you slow the action down enough everything looks menacing but you tend to forget they're going at close to 200 mph and have about a  half second to make a decision - some folk you see commenting on twitter make it sound like Hamilton was Dick Dasterdly like gently stroking his chin considering his many devious options as he meandered towards the corner

Agree with most that Horner seems like a bit of a cry baby and some of his comments are embarrassing as fuck (and certainly wouldn't have been the same had Hamilton gone flying into the barrier). Anyway, would trust the stewards to review it properly - and seem to have got it about right (just might not seem tough enough down to Hamilton having an immense drive after he was docked the 10 secs).
