Shankland ship has sailed for me. It was January or never imo
We need better
Hard to disagree with this
I think shankland was exactly what we needed in January in order to see this season out and potentially get us over the line. If that had all panned out positively for us and him in this 6 months then he would be in with a shout to cement his place going into next season and at the very least would be a valuable squad player
Where we are now I don't see him as a long term part of a rebuild job which is going to look for players who can deliver consistently domestically while also being able to do a decent job in Europe over the next few seasons
I would still take him as a squad addition but wouldn't be paying over the odds for him now. Probably contradictory as I certainly would have paid over the odds on January as I do think his goals and not basically relying on dessers up front for half of the season could have seen us land the title this year

Don't think I have ever needed the summer break from Rangers in my life even during the lower league shitshows
Obviously be on here and using social media for keeping updated on ins and outs but looking forward to a summer to recharge and see where we are sitting come end of July. Until then stress free weekends and taking part and taking in many parades

Honestly my biggest wish is some signs of a clear shift in mentality taking place and becoming evident in our results and performances. Particularly against they cunts
-
Can argue the rules and logic but no chance that goal gets disallowed up the other end
Every game against us this season these cunts have got the VAR going for them , the penalty they were awarded down there a few weeks back was a shambles

One player doesn't make a team though, or it fucking shouldn't
Well it wasnt just him but he was influential in how we played and set up that day
We also had an on form lundstrum , were still getting a tune out of Kent every now and then and were able to make effective subs like Davis and Arfield that day. Team were also full of confidence and pure adrenaline from securing our place in a European semi final just a few nights before

The last time in a game that meant something trophy wise that we weren't behind at HT we beat them and that was gios cup semi (iirc canny be arsed googling beales cup semi final lol) we kept with them and while they took the lead, we could match them and eventually pulled away
He needs to do whatever it takes to make sure we aren't chasing shadows after ten mins,
Only worry is that some of his only options have a habit of shitting the bed against this mob
We had Bassey back then which allowed us to play how we did

I’m not sure they have. The scorelines have been close, but we’ve been comfortably turned over twice at their midden. In truth it should have been bigger doings.

The start games well and we tend to take until the second half to get going
Would be nice in Saturday if we start the game calm and composed and didn't concede first for a change

Buildup starts at 1:15 on bbc on Saturday
Seems a wild amount of buildup
Be going all out and putting the extra effort in because it's an old firm final

The John Greig statue has been there for years with no real incident (outside of our own fans reported indiscretions)
Walter was such a great man he genuinely bridged the divide and gained the respect of the vast majority of them. I doubt they'd go near it.
Tend to agree but wouldn't put anything past that group of wee fannies "the bhoys" to attempt something on it

Once Saturday is out the way with hopefully a win , look forward to a summer tournament to enjoy in hopefully some nice weather and some beer gardens as a neutral without the stresses of it involving Rangers for a few weeks
Couldn't care less who wins it. Only way England winning it would mean anything to me is the utter meltdown it would cause amongst the nationalists up here which would be a sight to behold and tremendous reading and viewing

The two cups don’t equal the league.
Like a league and cup double or treble wouldn’t outdo a European trophy.
Precisely
A team like St Johnstone winning both domestic cups in one season is probably there equivalent to us landing a European trophy
For a club of their size and resources it's a once in their history never mind generation type achievement

Objectively to them. Not to us, we'd finally won the league again after so many years of suffering and making our way back to the top.
Didn't enter my head at all at the time that anyone bar us, had the better season.
We were invincible champions, qualified straight in for the Champions League groups.
No one's holding cups up against that in my mind.
Well St Johnstone are never going to win the league
So winning the two domestic cups in one season is without a doubt the greatest season in their clubs history due to levels they operate at as opposed to us and Celtic

Did you think St. Johnstone had a better season than us when we won the league?
Knockout cup football is different. League is the crown.
In terms of where both clubs operate the arguement with St Johnstone probably makes more sense as it was St Johnstone's greatest ever season
Between us and them though the league is always the benchmark

That songs brutal still
I think it's one that sounds good when the fans are singing it full pelt compared to the recorded version
One of those ones that once we sing it for twenty minutes after a European away win or hopefully on Saturday and everyone will end up loving

Maybe someone can show the equivalent balance sheets as I’m sure we’ve only really started to reach similar levels over the last couple of seasons.
They have 5 trebles and and a double so far in completed seasons since our return, Saturday will determine if they end up with another double
The calibre of squad we had compared to theirs for a few of those years was not that massive post Pedro and Murty to justify allowing them to waltz to that domestic dominance. We basically had the makings and foundations of a squad that would eventually make a European final after a good few consistent years in Europe. Just choked far too often domestically and it's an attitude that is still haunting us just now

We we’re back in name only and we’ll only be back truly once we start winning leagues on a constant basis.
I'm not disputing that
On paper the squads we have had since Gerrard walked in the door should have delivered far more domestic success. If anything they cunts constant chase for trebles should have been all the motivation our players required to deliver more in the domestic competitions but instead we seemed to find never ending ways to hinder ourselves in them

We all know the implications of 2012 but most of Celtics catching up has actually been done while we have been back up since 2016
There is no real excuse for our piss poor domestic cup success since Gerrard walked in the door to be honest and only ourselves to blame. Since then we have had squads more than worthy of winning the cup competitions, just so happens that more often than not they find ways to fuck it up

Would much prefer if footballers in general just kept their socials private, but the reaction to this is a bit over the top.
I don't think it is . It's the fans reminding players that standards have slipped , particularly in the last few weeks where it has gifted them another title. The squad right now has nothing to be boastful about with Saturday being their major chance of some minor redemption and restore a bit of pride
It's similar to Antony down at man united to be honest who as a neutral looking in on that when you see his antics and cringey behaviour it just serves as a reminder to how far Man U's standards have slipped in last decade

Seen Cantwell do this and also silva done the same to the same section of the hearts crowd and even showed them the name on his jersey
On the day where they cunts are having their title party and turning Glasgow city centre into a republican hovel on the back of it we have our players giving it the big I am to fucking hearts fans. Then a few moments later blowing a 2 goal lead. Sums up everything about the mentality of the squad

The problem is he is an unwanted distraction to the team setup ,is the situation a bit like what Walter and Gazza had you think?
Gazza could turn up and singlehandedly win you a big game even after a week of off field antics and press headlines
Obviously gazza had his odd blip on the park in his career but majority of time the best and most in control version of Gascoigne was on a football pitch.

I hope they do think that
Reality is they were nothing great this year either if they were able to take the green tinted specs off and hold a reasonable conversation without engaging in their own hubris for a few moments
Ultimately they are more clinical and have better options up front . That for me was the real difference between the two squads . Their defence was equally as prone to a shambles as ours but they had options upfront that could bail them out . They were one or two bad results away from hitting the car park again this season on a few occasions. For me it's a title we choked and they hoovered up and deep down they will know they got away with one and to be honest if the shoe was on the other foot my gloating would also be ramped up if we did the same to them but I also wouldn't be under any illusions and would be demanding we would also need major improvement in the summer
