Blue corn flakes 1,282
Not sure about this move. Millers record was fantastic. A pure goal scorer. He banged them in against the tramps.
simon 1,743
Finally we can get rid of the tim! I am just joking, not entirely happy about losing Kenny but it is his choice and there is not much we can do about it. If Martin Bain has offered him the best contract he can and Kenny decides it is not for him then fine. I would like to see him stay until the end of the season though and he can jump ship in the summer. As it has been said before £700k will not make up for the lost revenue if we finish second. Players like Kenny Miller can be the difference between 1st and 2nd place. I would still like to see us bring in Goodwillie but not at the expense of Miller. Obviously that can't happen due to our financial restrictions. If we do get £700k for Miller and Goodwillie is costing £2m that is a difference of £1.3m =, where is that coming from? Surely Andy Webster plus £1m would be enough for them? And we keep Miller? Wishful thinking?

ManchestGer 347
Will Miller go to Birmingham to sit on the bench for most of the time? There is no way that he will be the first choice lone striker there!Birmingham have been struggling upfront all season, could see him getting a fair few games to be fair

*Manticore* 1,893
I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwillie's price goes up after this.Dundee Hibernian have never been a Club to do us any favours.
Irwin Sparkes 97
Tbh, Miller would be a lunatic to turn this move down. A chance to finally establish himself in the Premiership and playing under his former international manager and alongside his former Rangers captain. He has no interest in staying at Rangers so there's no greeting from me.*that's in response to the posts pondering whether or not he'd be willing to join Birmingham
trueblueal 2,117
Miller is a 31 yr old who relies on fitness and workrate which suggests to me the next two years will see his decline fairly rapidly. Time to move on

disgruntled_bear 157
Gers accept Birmingham Miller bidStriker Kenny Miller is mulling over a move to Birmingham City after Rangers accepted an offer in the region of £700,000 from the English club. The 31-year-old Scotland player has netted 22 club goals so far this term. But he has stalled on a contract extension beyond June and he is free to speak with other clubs.Rangers failed with a bid for Dundee United's David Goodwillie but, even if Miller moves, they are unlikely to be able to meet United's £1.5m valuation. The fee from the Midlands club would also increase should they avoid relegation from the English Premier League this season.Rangers manager Walter Smith had stated that his wish in the first instance was that Miller signed a new deal with the Glasgow side.Failing that, he hoped to keep Scottish football's leading goal-scorer until at least the end of the current league campaign. However, on Thursday Smith bemoaned the fact that the current financial situation at his club means that he will not be able to make any moves to strengthen his small squad without first selling a player. On Friday it emerged that Rangers had an offer rejected by Dundee United for the Tannadice striker Goodwillie. It is believed that the verbal offer that they submitted for the Scotland cap was approximately half of his club's estimation.Miller arrived for his second spell at Rangers in June 2008, having first signed on at Ibrox in 2000 from Hibernian. In the intervening seasons he had a one-year spell at Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as stints in England with Wolves and Derby County. The forward has already played under Birmingham boss Alex McLeish, who was Scotland manager in 2007.So far, Miller has amassed 51 international caps, scoring 12 goals.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/9349550.stm

docspiderman 1,228
He'll be first choice unless they sign Robbie Keane. Zigic has flopped and Cameron Jerome is a hard worker who couldn't score in a brothelBut Jerome can play the lone striker role which I do not think Miller has the strength, height, control and touch to do.He might get on for the last 5 minutes of games at best when they are chasing the game. Blue corn flakes 1,282
Miller out and Goodwille in with half the wages that Miller was on. Plus maybe Webster thrown into the Goodwille deal dropping another wage. Bank wins.

ritchieshearercaldow 22,137
We seem to be loosing the plot here, I maintain that unless we have a White Knight riding to the rescue, our Ist 2nd and 3rd Priority is to win the SPL, if we loose the revenue from CL footbal then IMO things will only get worse. We are now contemplating selling our top proven goalscorer for £750 grand and possibly replacing him with Goodwillie, who while he may look good on paper might not hit the ground running, we have Jevalic to come back, he has not yet proven himself and may not do so.I'm confused

Coplandbear11 1,087
If it's true 700k is good business IF we get Goodwillie in and we've got Jelavic, Naisy, Lafferty. More than enough quality to fire us to the title.
