I would get a northern Ireland kit if it wasn't Green, why do they play in green anyway?

found this on wiki answers, dont know if theres any truth in it though  :

Northern Ireland (or Ireland as it was at the very start in 1880) originally played in Dark blue but it clashed with Scotland as they also played in Blue.

So the colours were changed to Green shirts and white shorts.

It seems strange now that you would change your colours because it clashed with one other country, but remember there only was 4 footballing nations around that time, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland

Ireland, the original team which Northern Ireland has evolved from used to wear St. Patrick's Blue, a traditional colour of Ireland. In 1931 we adopted our current colour, Green. a few years ago we had a Blue away kit.

I'm happy enough with the Green and white combo, they are seen as the Colours of Ireland after all.

This Kit which we had a few years ago for the 125th anniversary of the IFA was awesome.

Shame I can't find a better picture.

'Barcelona have released pictures of their new home and away shirts — both of which are sure to cause plenty of debate.

Kit designers Nike say the new orange-and-yellow away shirt, which looks strikingly like the American sweet Candy Corn, is an "explosion of bright colour to celebrate the club's effervescent style of play".

The choice of colours is said to "pay homage to the city's mixture of culture, art, style and architecture".

Nike have also taken a risky move with their new home kit, which does away with the club's famous blue and red stripes.

The press release to accompany the design says that the stripes are "fused together to give the shirt a bold new look".'
