Angela Haggerty sacked from Herald

It's funny because it's basically 2 people who have been let go because of their misconduct and going against their employer, anywhere else, not a person would really care because they could see the justification.

Involve Rangers and look what you get? Big bag Rangers strike again eh?

No one is obsessed though...

If Haggerty and Spiers are so convinced in this "freedom of speech" issue, perhaps Spiers could publish, via Mr Greenslade or some kind friend's blog, the name of the Ranger's director and a transcript of the conversation, including the full context in which "The Billy Boys" comment was made?

If his column was nothing more than libelous rot, designed to attack Rangers once again, then he should have no problem doing this. He has no source to protect as he claims the comments were made in his presence. He must have notes of what was said, or at least a fair recollection of the conversation taking place at the time.

I would guess, if the Herald's lawyers have said to the paper that they haven't a leg to stand on, that he either cannot back up his claims that such a comment was made in isolation, in support of "sectarian" behaviour, or in any context that could be described as defending sectarianism. He was clearly trying to insinuate this in his article and he clearly can't back it up.

And, once again, someone needs to try and explain to Greenslade what the word Fenian means. Even though that word wasn't sung at the Hibs game anyway (trophies, ebts, hibees, etc.).

I am delighted that standing up to these cnuts has paid off, and not surprised that the "vicTIM" card is played and the usual apologist/haters defend her under "Freedom of Speech" rather than face the facts that she printed "Lies of Hate and sheer and utter jealousy!!"..A wonderful day for Truth and Justice...

Some gratuitous arse licking going on  there. Disappointed with Ruth Davidson but expected it from the rest.

Rufioooo that tweets bog brush heid in the screengrab, is he not a member on here? :D

I once told the bold Jum that he is as popular as aids(due to a disagreement about Bomber) & it got retweeted by every rheptile thats moaning about the Hag. They really are a loathesome group, but they know when to circle the wagons.

Stinky bassas.

So, if I'm reading this correctly. Based on Spiers assertions, we threatened legal action against The Herald. The Herald will have taken advice on how strong their case was and been told "not very" based on them hastily issuing a retraction and apology to avoid this. Nonetheless, Haggerty disregards the counsel received by her employer and publicly states support, as a Herald employee, of the erroneous allegation. As a consequence of this, she is sacked. Did she think things through? What the fuck did she honestly expect? Playing the martyr by the looks of it.

"If you value journalistic integrity without fear of bullying by institutions, boycott the Herald."

Simple question Spiers and friends need to answer: why did the Herald apologise if he was telling the truth? They're no friends of Rangers, so why did they apologise?

If he was telling the truth, and could back it up, why not just let Rangers sue? Surely the Herald would win, if he was not telling porkies or twisting the story?

her "support" are a bunch of no marks.

Ruth Davidson is getting put in the picture from a few bears as well.....

Like Davidson the dicks that are supporting her are probably unaware of her background and her bigoted beliefs.

Much like the primary teacher who was suspended, Hag shouldn't be put in a position to influence

That Facebook page she has makes her look all sweet and innocent...drivel.

The Herald must have asked him who the director was,at which point it became clear there was no director. In other words it was a fabrication. And he was sacked. The hag was then sacked for going against the people who paid the cheque into her bank account every month. Not a very smart move but what we have came to expect because the hatred towards Rangers blinds these people to the point rational thinking is not possible for them. But we should be clear Rangers FC did not get these two individuals their jotters...their own actions did. And the employer had very little choice.

The club and support have been battered from pillar to post by these cretins for far too long. The fight back would appear to be well and truly on. Hopefully this will unite the support once and for all as these people are the common enemy of the club and us as a support. WATP!

I could imagine that a director may have said that he liked the tune, not the words, but Spiers twists it to mean something else.

I cannot imagine a Director saying this never mind the fact I don't think any Director would speak to Spiers!
