boy was out boxed by Nate Diaz and would struggle to be a top 50 boxer at best

Don't get me fucking started on tapout

Think people forget the Irish prick was beat off Diaz.

I hate MMA.

Hate the wee faggots about town and in gyms who have done a couple of Mma sessions and are cutting about with the tap-out hoody and that.

 And you know you'd be able to knock fuck out of the wee tadgers. Fucking gimps the lot of them.

Mayweather by stoppage.

Absolute farce. One of McGregor's best attributes is keeping his opponents out of range with kicks - which he obviously can't use. He also holds his chin out and has terrible boxing defence.

I'm sure McGregor can quickly get up to a decent standard, but decent won't be anywhere near good enough. In MMA, being a decent boxer is all he will ever need to be - it involves so much more.

I mean to be a local champion, you need to be good. To be a district (ie West of Scotland) champion, you need to be very good. To be a regional (ie Scottish) champion, you need to be excellent, etc, etc. Mayweather was the very best of the very best.

Mayweather is 40, so obviously isn't the fighter he was even 2-3yrs ago, however age will have to have robbed him of all his attributes for McGregor to have a chance. The sheer amount of subtleties a fighter like Mayweather has in his arsenal, simply cannot be learned in a short time.

Basically, barring the absolute freakish happening........ this shouldn't even go 3 rounds.

Fuck knows, i hate it anyway, its pish imo.

Me too. I know they are skilled but it's like watching a street fight. All rush and leathering cunts lying on the ground. The sort of shite you seen in the schemes and city centre. It's also a bit blink and you'll miss it as there doesn't seem to be as much emphasis on defence and the gloves, kicks, and hitting cunts on the floor just means guaranteed KOs. Doesn't have the same class as boxing for me where it's stand up, you give your man a count, a chance to recover, and don't go kneeing your opponent in the face as he's lying on his back.

No doubt I'd have liked it as a teenager but boxing is more like an art and clever to watch. I'd be surprised if any MMA champ can go years of fights without defeat as the brutal and random nature of it means any cunt is at risk no matter how good because the way they clash must make it difficult for even the best to avoid getting sparked out.

My young cousin and his mates think this Conor guy has this in the bag :mutley:

I think Mayweather will just evade the boy for a few rounds whilst hitting him with counter punches like he does before really embarrassing the guy as he spots him blowing and finishing him in the seventh with body shots. If it was a more aggressive boxer like Manny Pacquao or Dela Hoya it would be over in three unless this boy can really take pain. Two completely different sports.

If Mayweather was to fuck this up it would be a huge embarrassment to boxing. That's why I think it's a bit dumb of the governing body to let it happen but money shouts as usual. I'd usually want to see him lose for being an arrogant little cunt but not this time. Fuck having all these millennials running around saying boxing is dead and this bearded half-wit is the slickest puncher out there

Thankfully it almost impossible because these guys shouldn't have the ability to nail Floyd in a boxing match. He's also tough as fuck at taking the pain and surviving when he's been hit hard so that makes it seem even more unlikely.

I keep thinking about putting everything I have on a Mayweather win but just don't trust that some stunt isn't going to happen here so they can spin a rematch or something. Unlikely I know but otherwise it's the sort of thing you'd think you could put your house on after the way Mayweather has dealt with all the top boxers in the world at something like five different weights.

How popular is MMA mate? I've been surprised by the hype around this boy Conor and the talk that he's a huge star. I knew the youngsters were right into it but does it get huge viewing figures like boxing?

What's your thoughts on the difference the gloves will make to the MMA guys power? As I'm thinking his only hope is to try and KO Mayweather quickly with a big mad bum rush where he gets lucky.

See if it goes the way it's expected to will MMA people be pissed off with their guy for doing it? I suppose they have less to lose right enough as it's a boxing match. Just thinking it would still be bad for the sport if their top guy gets completely schooled and doesn't land anything.

MMA has went massive over the last few years.

Probably slow him down a bit with the gloves. Think Mayweather will play with him due to his speed. Don't think Mayweather wins by K.O .

Prediction Money on points, unanimous.

I doubt he will knock him spark out, but would expect Mayweather to be able to force a TKO whenever he wants.

Have you even watched a UFC fight ?

Yes what part do you disagree with? They obviously use feet, hit on the ground, rush more, and use thinner gloves. It allows just about anything and is more brutal like a streetfight than boxing. That means it usually ends a lot quicker too. Boxers specialise more with their hands so I think they are more skilled with their hands and they defend themselves better. What's wrong about that?

Do you think this guy is going to be able to match up to a world class boxer in a fist fight?

Against UFC rules, there's also huge emphasis on defence, ground defence is one of the most important aspects of the sport. The reason you think there is little emphasis on defence is because you're looking at it from a purely striking stand point, mma fighters have to consider takedown defence, so their hands can't be too high all the time, striking defence such as checking leg kicks, slipping punches etc, ground defence such as escaping submissions, reversing/blocking transitions etc, its not just a brawling street fight the way you are attempting to make it out to be.

For a start you said they knee to the head when on the ground, which is banned.

Also it's not all "rush and leathering cunts" ... one of the biggest aspect of MMA these days is Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. Damian Mia is about to challenge for a belt and he barely throws a punch.

And to say boxing is an art and clever to watch but MMA isn't is very naive, especially considering you know very little about it.

And for the record I think the fight will go the distance, which is hugely embarrassing for boxing. If Floyd got in a cage with McGregor it wouldn't last 60 seconds.

Fucking love watching Damien Maia, him and Nurmagomedov are probably my 2 favourite MMA fighters, love watching grappling based fighters that are genuine masters of their craft.
