Prso's headband 35,583
No way it’s a red card. St Johnstone manager saying pretty much the same thing but we all know that even if refs deal with the incident the trumped up charges often include not seen by the officials so that’ll be interesting

KingKirk 25,696
Under the current laws of the game its a red all day.
ShanksRFC 3,870
It was a red card as much as Duffy on Kent and Main on Barisic. Fucking joke if they go back an re-referee it, something they said they wouldn't be doing.

Not to mention Edwards on Alfie, Brown’s elbow the other night, Brown’s elbow in the first OF, Edouard pre-Christmas, Griffiths’ stamp and about a dozen other challenges that have gone unpunished in the league over the past 2-3 months alone. The Scottish media is absolutely poisonous and goes against the very principles that journalism and reporting ostensibly exists to adhere to. There is a one club witch-hunt and contrary to what those deluded cunts on the other side of the city think, it ain’t them.
McEwan's Lager 30,609
Intent or not its 100% a red card for serious foul play under the current rules.

I think Morelos previously being cited raised it from a yellow to a red. I always thought too that if the ref had taken action that was it dealt with. Was originally meant for where the ref missed something but seems to have expanded the scope now.

Not one of us would have argued if Roofe had got a red card. But that's not the point. The ref saw it deemed it a yellow. Re-refereeing games is something that was not supposed to happen. But the whole compliant process is so fucked up that they simply do whatever they want.
Bears r us 30,826
I am going to take a lead from the tarriers and say it is not a red, yellow given, no damage done to their player, their manager is not saying it was intentional either. I will start agreeing with our players getting retrospective bans once all teams in the league, especially those from the piggery, get done as well, until then they can GTF. Simples. Yeah the middle of the road purgatory we have at the moment is not ideal. Either implement VAR or leave matches after the 90 minutes are up.
IanFerguson2013 397
I watched it a few times. Happens fo fast there is no intent involved, just a clumsy player and Roofe doesn't have a bad record to bring to the table so he should be fine. (Brown is a known thug who really does need caged for his offences)
Howsitgoing 4,281
How can we go from being a team that is sitting top of the fair play league with the least amount of cards to being one that requires the compliance officer to have a continuous influence in how our players are refereed! We have had 2 incidents from Morelos and now this one whilst having played almost 3/4 of the season that might of went either way, a red or a yellow, can’t think of any others. GWR1979 1,964
He loses control of the ball and then the challenge with his left could easily be a red. Lucky man.

If it's within the rules and there's precedent then none of what you're saying matters. Being seen by the ref and being dealt with at the time is completely irrelevant. It shouldn't be, IMO, but it is.

However going by recent years, the push seems to be towards 'intent', if a tackle looks like it's meant to do damage to a player then they usually get punished retrospectively Roofe's looked worse in real time, its a bad tackle but you can clearly see he's going to shield the ball and catches the guy, there's zero malice in it. As I said I could've had no complaints if he'd been sent off in the match, it looked terrible in real time but if a panel of so called 'experts' can sit down with all the footage and say he deserves a 3 game ban for it then they don't know football.
