Isn't Defoe all but done as a player? Club no longer call him a player but a coach. Probably a "break glass incase of emergency" type now.

No criticism of Roofe because when he's been fit he's been great for us, but why the need to skew the ratio by only including games he's started in instead of total appearances?

26 in 35 sounds unbelievable, 26 in 50 odd still good but not as much.

We have a pathetic attitude towards young players coming through...not sure why we bother with having them at the club

Morelos has 101 goals for us in 200 games and Roofe has 26 in 51 games. They are both 1 goal every 2 game strikers which unless you are fucking Messi, Ronaldo or Lewandowski is a fantastic goal scoring record.

Don't know the answer to that but I do feel it's important to point out.

You don't get time to settle at Rangers. Sakala and Lundstram two players with a bit of pedigree have already been written off by a section of the support. A youngster coming through at a club with expectations like us needs to be special as they need to hit the ground running, it's not easy to produce special players.

Not seen enough of him to form an opinion, quite sure he will get an opportunity if he is performing in training etc but seems a bit of a knee jerk reaction at the moment to us all feeling a bit raw about current form.

I love both, but you have to be looking at 2 goals in every 3 games i.e. 20 or more in the league over the course of a season for a club like us in a league like ours.

For Morelos in particular given how many games he starts and always as the focal point, Roofe less so with what we ask of him. 12 and 12 in the past 2 seasons and 4/5 so far this season needs to get better, particularly as this season Morelos is nowhere near the handful for a defence that he used to be.

19/20 it was 12 goals and 3 assists in 18 starts. Which is a very good return. Lets not act like its 12 goals in 35+ starts each season..

Equally, I don't think an EPL team is paying us >£20 million for a striker scoring 1 in 2 (or less in the league) unless they are exceptional at something else, which for a while he was in terms of harassing and bullying defences.

That Morelos record is insane. If he played with us the rest of his career at that rate he’d break McCoist’s record before 30

I’ve just read that Kris Boyd only scored 101 goals for Rangers though?! That cannot be right surely

While he’s admittedly out of form, his overall game outside the box is still very strong. Really effective deep lying forward, just needs to get himself in better positions behind the line

I think if we're well up in a game and crusing he should definitely be given a chance. Sadly, were not going to be well up in a game and crusing. We could have R9 up top but it doesn't matter if we create fuck all and give him no service which is where our issues are.
