Is he though? He is a player who played for a team who usually had less than 30% possession, who sat back in number to stifle teams rather than high press. I have never reckoned he would be a fit and it only takes one player to  ruin a pressing game.

I agree with all of that. I don’t know if I would trust Wilson or Gerrard with the money, I also don’t think January is the best time to be signing players either.

I agree and it has been frustrating.At first I thought it could be lack of fitness from Lundtrom and Davis meaning they drop back 10 yards to try to protect themselves and widening the gap between midfield and front three giving the initiative to the opposition and less service going forward.
However, looking back over the last 6 or so games it seems to be a deliberate tactic to try to see out games. Last season we saw out domestic games by keeping possession and if we lost the ball quickly getting it back while this season it is sit back starve the forwards then take them off for more sitting back and inviting crosses and shots to our goal. That does not work and does not help my blood pressure.

I don't understand the shit Aribo gets. Play him as part of a front 3 or a number 10. Otherwise he's wasted.

Looks to me that the striker in him has been coached out. He is now dropping deep to link play and playing more like a dual striker role.The problem is that we were not and do not play a foil for him for that role.

You are right; even last season late goals conceded in Europe and domestically against St Johnstone spring to mind but these were sloppy mistakes. This season the team now sit back and stop pressing almost inviting crosses, runs and shots. Last season we could control most games by keeping possession, this season the tactic is sit back and hope.

So far I would rate Bacuna  as well below mediocre.Has he ever shown in his previous clubs that he will add anymore than he has shown so far with us?

We laugh at the mess that lot across the city are in; worst start ,cannot defend etc yet they are only 4 points behind, lost fewer goals and a better goal difference.
The worry is that we cannot close out games and we have a very limited squad with a shortage of subs that could change games. Our recruitment in 2021 has been woeful when the time to strengthen is when a team is on top.They have invested in a few players who can find the net against the rest of the league so we somehow have to find away to beat teams and hope to keep our necks ahead.

Gerrard seems to quite often subs players who shouldn’t be subbed and keeps on those who should. His subs today invited Hearts on to us, and we paid for it.
