Well if he hasn't breached his contract then get the fucker back at training and told what is expected of him.

Giving him 3 weeks to break his contract. Everyone knows (including the club) that he won't keep his mouth shut for 3 weeks then easier to get rid after that.

Shambles. We are a joke of a club right now on and off the park.

Now we gave three more weeks of distraction and no word of what actually happened so it just let's people make speculation.

He should of apologised today , everyone kiss n make up and get on with the actual important thing which is to fucking win games, or been sacked today. Letting it drag on is unbelievable.

You don't know what you're talking about. We don't know what was said today or what happened last week but even if he did apologise, messages to the rest of the squad need to be given if a player is out of order, and he obviously has been. It might have been settled today but never after he got the media involved. If today's decision means dragging things out then so be it.  If Barton ends up breaking his enforced silence then he'll be sacked and so be it.

You either tel him and us he won't play again for us or you tell him to get his arse to training and get his finger out.

Exactly.

Suspect that would have been the case had it not been for the tweets and radio interview. This is their way of putting him in his place (which I don't think will work).

Three week suspension is just stupid though, better to have him kiss and makeup with the players and knuckle down and get fit.

This is more poor management from MW.

All he's done now is add fuel to mHedia fire for 3 weeks and then what?  Obviously Barton is not just going to walk back into training like nothing has happened at the end of the suspension he'll end up running his mouth on twitter and cause a bigger rift at the club.

Sorry but for me MW looks more and more out of his depth as each day passes, Walter Smith would have kicked his backside fined him and showed Barton who the gaffer is then after a few days got the two players to shake hands and carry on like men.

The mHedia now know they are under MW skin and they will go to town on him especially if the bad results continue.

IMO if what happened was so serious, such a wilful and gross breach of his employment contract then if the Club wanted to terminate the contract we would not have been reading about another 3 week breathing space period.   So that tells me that what happened was not in territory where Rangers could safely go for immediate termination of the contract.

That puts things into the realms of interpretation.   Warburton and the Board's view vs Barton's view.    Warbuton pissed off and the Club pissed off at what it sees as unacceptable behaviour from Barton but can't safely go as far as to sack him.    3 more weeks only means time for the Club and for Barton to take expert advice on options and then take it from there.    If he can't be fired - which he can't as if that were a safe option it would have happened today - then its about a mutual termination of the contract as there is no way after what will have been a 4 week banishment that Barton could return to the squad and carry on.    He would be ostracized.  Persona non grata.   An outcast.

What Warburton is really saying by invoking Board inclusion in the meeting today is (1) the Board backs me and is not prepared to forgive whatever happened and (2) Barton is really not wanted at Ibrox.

Conveniently for Warburton, King and the Board, the way they have engineered the handling of this episode provides a neat excuse if Warburton does not achieve European football for next season.  It also buys Warburton more time to turn things round as he can point to the absence of a key summer signing as impairing the recovery process.

Highly tempting to conclude that the seemingly high handed way this has been handled by Warburton and the Club is designed to give Warburton more time to get matters right on the pitch and to keep him in his own job a bit longer - it provides a useful deflection from rank unacceptable results.   Of course that sort of conclusion could be way off the mark if it was clear that this was the only wise and proper course of action to have taken.  But then we don't know because Rangers are not revealing details of why they think this was the only way to act.

This is a fucking shambles because it now hangs over the whole club, every match, every press conference for the next 3 weeks. Hate to say it but MW has handled this very badly indeed

No it doesn't. The club won't comment on it now and we can just forget about him for three weeks, or longer if he leaves.  You don't know the ins and outs of what happened so how you can say MW handled it very badly is just conjecture.

The problem is nobody knows what they are talking about because we have been told nothing. Just look at the speculation on this forum ! We have another 3 weeks of that thanks to Rangers.

He's already been suspended for a week, if it was something more serious which can't be sorted out by talking like men and apologising then it should be serious enough to sack him.

The bottom line being this takes away from what should be everybody's priority, which is winning games of football !

It's probably not just as simple as that.

It's more likely his "breach" is a disciplinary offence that means the penalties stop short of dismissal but can include a fine/suspension etc.  Further breaches (cumulatively) could lead to dismissal.  Could also be that we've reached that stage but have to go through due legal process.  Either way, the right decision is to remove him from the from the equation for the meantime.

Barton isn't bigger than the Club. We will move on with or without him.

I reckon he will rant on Twitter/give another interview and get sacked for gross misconduct.

He had a chance to finish his career with some silverware but can't control his mouth or ego.

I hope he isn't being paid for his 3 week suspension and last weeks too.

We don't know. The club do and they've taken what they believe necessary steps.

I'd assume you agree squad harmony and players respecting the manager and his position are crucial for the squad?

Without a doubt but I don't think everyone should jump on the bandwagon and start saying he's a prick and get rid when we don't know the Situ and I also don't think it should've been played out in the media as that won't be good for squad unity either. What happens at our training pitch should stay there and be dealt with in house, we real don't need all this focus on this we need it on. The players who are here to do a job
