Honestly, listen to the voice of the presenter of the story. Then they emphasise that Rangers didn't offer an apology. Why should they? Nothing has been proved. The rest of it is just the usual hatchet job. Utter cunts.

Don't watch Bigoted BBC Grotland Tarrier infested channel swiftly turn over after the main BBC News

It won't matter. Once Torbetts trial is over, we should be highlighting that as much as possible and pushing for punishment for every single breach of the rules. They are doing it to us, so we would be stupid to miss this golden opportunity. They are clearly running scared of the trial as it will unearth a shitload of questions about their role in the cover up.

Given a high enough profile the SFA will have to act on it.

POLICE have said there is no live investigation in connection with coach Gordon Neely and claims of abuse while he was at Rangers.

It comes after a former youth footballer spoke out to make a new claim that he was sexually abused by the coach while at Rangers and was reportedly told by the club he should pursue his complaint with liquidators.

The man claims he was abused within the Ibrox stadium by Gordon Neely who was head of youth development in the 1980s.

Rangers said they would “co-operate fully” with all those who had a “genuine interest” in seeking to protect children and “addressing the wrongs” of what had happened in the past.

It said that both the Scottish FA and Police Scotland had been informed of the matter.

Rangers have confirmed in December, 2016, that Mr Neely was sacked following an allegation of inappropriate behaviour towards a teenage player and the police were informed.

The club said that Mr Neely, who was a youth coach at Ibrox in the 1980s when police were contacted over claims made by the player, and the club said he was “dismissed immediately”.

The club said it had not been approached by Police Scotland or any authority regarding this allegation.

Several former youth players have spoken two years ago about how Neely carried out sexually motivated attacks during his coaching career which included a stint at Hibs.

It is not clear whether Mr Neely, who worked at Rangers for more than three years after leaving Hibernian in 1986, has ever been subject of a police investigation.

An attempt through Freedom of Information to discover what action Police Scotland had taken over complaints relating to Mr Neely, who died of cancer in 2014, have previously been blocked.

The BBC says that an alleged victim, known only as David was told by lawyers for Rangers that the duty of care is not with the current owners.

They said that when the abuse took place Rangers were owned by a different company which was now in liquidation.

Would Rangers have actually said that when, AFAIK the oldco hasn't actually been liquidated. Something just not right with this IMO.

The club is right. If the guy wants the company to be vicariously liable for the actions of it's employee it's the company that is now in liquidation that's relevant. A company formed after the allegations took place cannot be liable as an organisation.

The club scored a massive own goal by trying to refer the whole thing to the liquidators! Stupid move. A simple regret and compliance statement was all that was needed but we look fucking daft trying to say it was nae is it was that other company. No wonder folk laugh at us!

Not needed - you already ooze paranoia without me having to point it out to folks.

So you're still holding the view that people are paranoid on here?

Despite everything that's been in the Scottish Mainstream Media these last few days...

No chance the SFA will do one thing about this

More than likely bring our club into it and punish us

We could of been a bit smarter with the statement but this is not a news story, it's an opinion piece dressed up as news designed to make us look bad.

It's a statement of fact that we're legally not responsible for any claim against the oldco but we could of sounded more compassionate our reply.

The ante has clearly been upped by the media up there in the last few days. It still baffles me that there isn’t a single decent journo out there who wants to make a name for themselves by covering the story of media bias in Scotland.

FWIW, of the recent batch of negative “news” stories about Rangers, not one iota if it has made it into the mainstream news cycle in England, while the Gerrard story dominated for days. They really are preaching to the choir up there.

I agree with this. We should have spoke with some dignity and respect and made it clear we will comply with any formal process

Instead we made ourselves look stupid by saying what we did.

They saved the guy wasting his time as no court would ask the newco to pay any compensation.

So the only place he has left to go is the oldco.

But don’t let facts get in way of one of your rambling about paranoia blah blah blah.

BP9 you have been a regular on here for the whole time I have been a member which is a long time

i have occasionally agreed with you, more often disagreed but usually accepted that you have different views.

Sometimes I just think you are nothing but a wind up merchant.

Your position on paranoid Rangers fans is just one of those things I cannot fathom.

It reminds me a lot of climate change deniers or flat earthers. Steadfast refusal to acknowledge the massive evidence presented and dismissive of anything that opposes your view

If, after all this time, you cannot see that Rangers and our fans are treated very very differently from celtic and their fans then you simply are choosing to ignore the facts.

.... err sounds paranoid to me! :pipe:

the BBC ARE SHITE  as an Independence supporter I know this! The main stream media are SHITE at everything but it’s a bit like referees they are shite but shite for everyone - why? Because they are Shite!

I used to love when I was first on here - we laughed at celtic and their paranoia ( you’ll remember that) - we have got so bad we can’t even have a ‘let’s all laugh at celtic thread’ in the Bears den! ( you’ll also remember that) we are turning into them! Go figure.

They are biased against the SNP ( say the SNP) - biased against Labour ( say Labour). Basically they are a pis poor news organisation - but some deliberate conspiracy! Nope that’s your blue tinted glasses and paranoia shining away.
