Steady on. It was a nothing incident. If Kyle Lafferty, Cummings, Griffiths etc react like Morelos did they would never have been booked. It was a shambles of a decision.

Halliday had a worse reaction to the ref in the second half and even gave the linesman a bit of abuse at the same time and the ref did fuck all

Its just easier to book Morelos for it I guess.

Having a manager who realises one of his signings is not good enough and therefore doesn't play him is refreshing after what we've been through. A bit like the Souness era. A player doesn't fit he gets shipped out asap.

We've signed some horrendous players in recent years, but because everyone except the manager seemed to know they were duds, they kept getting picked to play. Glad to see these days are gone.

Spot on mate.

None of those players are under the pressure Morelos is under to behave himself. I’ll defend him against certain accusations but when everyone and their dug knows he really needs to screw the nut and not react, he does the opposite.

Almost papped out of Europe for him reacting to a decision, arguably dropping points against the sheep.

Beyond sick of it.

Not defending the ref at all, he was extremely poor last night.

A red card that was rescinded at Pittodrie. His behaviour in Russia was terrible and he did nearly cost us big time over there. But the fact he is refereed to a different standard than everyone else isn't fault and can only inflame the situation.

You see it all the time, whenever he is fouled referees go sprinting towards him expecting him to react despite the fact he rarely does. That in itself shows that there is a bias towards him.

Because his temper is fucking awful and clearly he can't keep it in check

It is becoming a problem with Morelos.

He’s been fantastic this season but that’s a ridiculous red card in Russia and now a booking (whoever harsh) in a nothing game last night.

He also was subbed last week, when team in cruise controlagainst Dundee, as he started to get involved yet again.

He shouldn’t have played last night as he simply cannot be trusted to go a game without getting booked.

I agree  - you can make a point to the ref without calling him all the names under the sun and getting involved. And we can say he needs to learn all we want - but the fact is he isnt - despite a very recent public warning from Gerrard.

I reckon Gerrard could have turned Waghorn into a top player for us.

Maybe, but one was sold a year ago and the other we chose not to sign and took Big Ulster instead, that's what I was meaning by saying they were totally different.

He's not a poor victim he makes the same daft mistakes all the time players are taking the piss out him now and getting him booked.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but given the turnaround in playing staff quite remarkable that Sadiq is the only one brought in by SG with a question mark above his head? Amazing business done in the summer by the gaffer and for what it’s worth I still think Sadiq could contribute the manager obviously seen something in him to go ahead with the loan.

You wonder whether he's taken him on a recommendation because there's zero chance that you spend time doing due diligence scouting a player only to find out they're nowhere near good enough to even get game time.

Someone may have more insight on this but I imagine agents are trying to pimp players to both us and the scum all the time and unfortunately (for us, long may the scum waste wages on compper and the like) we seem to occasionally fall for it.

I thought the issue was ignoring the ref when he called him over, hence Halliday escorting him to the ref. It could be the ref was just going to have a strong word but by then Morelos had lost  his chance. I’m not sure if cursing is all the English Morelos has learned or not but if it was for verbal abuse then either Madden understands Spanish or Morelos needs to ignore what his English speaking team mates are teaching him. ?

I could be wrong but I’m pretty certain Gerrard is quoted as saying he’d watched him personally and he may have even played against him in a Youth Champions League game while SG was at Liverpool and Sadiq was at Roma.

Not actually heard the gaffer say too much about him recently would be nice to know what the current status with him is.

He basically said last night that he hadn't been good enough, apparently.

no wonder he reacted. Lucky not have broken his ankle

If that bawbag Madden had done his job and booked or even sent off the Ayr player for a disgraceful challenge there would have been no reaction and no booking for Morelos
