PFA Scotland team of the year

Turnbull is in there simply because he’s a young Scottish player and Ajer isn’t that odd a decision, he’s a decent player and he’s only 23 I think?

You could argue the case for Helander but he’s older and played fewer games. Plus they were never having a full team of Rangers

Beg to differ, but maybe that’s just me.

Why does his age matter?

Doesn’t really but people tend to look at the age of players when rating them against others too. He’s less injury prone and is pretty highly rated in Scottish football. Not surprised he’s included at all

Ajer in there for the no look passes

And for (theoretically) getting back in time to stop Morelos

Had we played a consistent, injury-free centre back pairing all season (eg Goldson/Katic or Goldson/Helander), then they would have had to include both with only 13 goals conceded.

Ajer qualifies on the non-Ranger-who-played-quite-often rule, a bit like the prize you got at school for Good Attendance

A poll where many of the players would have allegiances to cellic (or other teams) which would put huge biases on the vote.

We still done well, and probably just reflects how many of our enemies play for the other teams.

A percentage check of the votes would be interesting, showing how many did not vote for the obvious candidates.

At the end of the day though. all our players did what they had to do this season, all that matters, every one a player of the year as a team.

As defending goes helander is on another level to that absolute donkey ajer. No even close BTW.

Even Turnbull in there, done absolutely fuck all in any big games this season apart from be anonymous.

Ajer part of the worst celtic team in a decade, with the defence the worst part of it. Caught out time and time again, and even ducked out the way of a shot. Best thing he did was a no look pass at 3-0 down, and limp about after a shoulder knock.

Meanwhile, we’ve Helander who still has never been beaten domestically while he’s on the park and doesn’t get in.
