Patterson/Tavernier

It's not even close to being disrespectful

Patterson is a pretty comparable age to Alphonso Davies for all you think he hasn't finished developing physically, it hasn't stopped Bayern playing Davies, him playing in a CL Final and doing so at the expense of players like Sule and Herndez, one of them they had paid a club record fee for.

They in theory could have said, fuck it you can't play him (Davies) he has only played 5/6/7/8/9/10 games we need to bring the others back solely because they are older and played more games historically than him rather than sticking with Davies to see him develop further. Is that borderline disrespectful, no, it's how football works.

A manager should do what is best for the team first. If Patterson had a standout preseason and Tav doesn't, decent chance Tav is out on his arse.

Up to Patterson to get anywhere near Tav's level. and he aint even close as yet,   hopefully he can develope and become better but getting carried away doesnt change facts, he's a kid still learning his trade. while Tav is one of our best players, is involved in most of what we do up front and was a massive miss when out injured

Patterson's emergence was well timed and in most games I'd agree we didn't miss him with the exception of Prague.

My main concern with selling Tav and relying on Patterson would be seeing how he coped after a bad game in front of the Ibrox crowd. Ultimately though I agree we can't hold him back at such a crucial stage.

Insightful and informed as ever.

You forgot about the Cup game against them though eh, come on you did.... Patterson was class, he was one of our best players that day.

Prague were probably just a better football team than us, not entirely convinced Tav makes a huge difference, there were far more didn't turn up at home against them than Patterson, the manager pretty much openly said we were half steaming when we went away to them.

Away to them in the league, we took a point 3 days after a pretty shit week for us in what was their biggest game of the season by then when they had a week to prepare, not seeing evidence of this "massive miss" to the team.

The tarriers certainly targeted him, but it backfired.

I said his position in relation to tav being missing, didnt say they targeted Patterson, it was Balogun who started, bringing Patterson on defo, improved things, tav was undoubtedly a miss v slavia as well.

That's such bullshit mate. You're buying into tarrier propaganda. Next you'll be telling me we won it cause there were no fans.

We won the title by March cause we were superb.and no other reason.

No we won the title by march because our nearest competition were so fucking rotten that they had fucked it up so badly

Were the tarriers superb the season before when they were 13 ahead and likely about to bitch slap us at ibrox before the league shut down

We still had to beat what was in front of us, and we did with style, and determination amongst other things, but to deny that our nearest competiton didn't implode ia wrong

Jesus they were still actually in it until they decided to fly to dubai mid season for a piss up 😂😂

Not once did patterson look anymore out of his depth than anyone else on the park, and at times he looked better than some, the boy has developed into a class act already, just need to find him more game time to continue the development

They were still in it when they were 19 points behind? 10 if you want to be kind and given them the benefit of the doubt....

Slavia’s goal came from a deep cross down Patterson’s side. That goal put us behind the eightball early and allowed Slavia to waste time and kick the shit out of our players.

That's no true but. How many points did we get cause they were shite? Fuck all. We got points because we played good football and earned it. Them being shite can account for something's, but no us going to Aberdeen and winning, putting 8 passed Hamilton, going to difficult grounds and sometimes grinding out results.

Your talking about a quadruple winning team and the best ever domestic team Scotland has ever seen yet we destroyed them on the park and off it.

Why so negative about the team and management, in what many of us could argue is possibly the biggest title win in our history given recent events.

The best ever domestic team, because they were so good or because they had no challenge? Remember their first two trebles were against warburton and pedro's rangers team,

Im not being negative, imo im being realistic, if people don't agree that's fine, just like i didnt think the 4x treble winning tarriers were the best thing ever, they just had no consistent competition

Ultimately the record books show otherwise and ultimately that's all that matters.

We destroyed a quadruple winning team on the pitch regardless of outside influences. No one will ever change 5he fact we stopped the tainted 10 this year

Patterson is the better player (that doesn't mean Tav isn't a good player). If the boy is given the chance ahead of O'Donnell, he will prove it in the next few weeks and his value will increase throughout Europe.

There is no room for both. Definitely a dilemma for Gerrard.

Yes I know but they happily claim all those trophies and they had the same squad with a couple of additions this season. To say we had no competition os laughable at best.

Near splattered the keyboard at his comment, then decided he was fuckin at it Rab.

They blew £17 Million on transfers and loans,to add to a squad who had won 8.75 titles.
Probably spent more than our whole squad cost to assemble.
We remember sleekit pete's snidey comment around 2013 that there was "no credible opposition"
We remember tlb's snidey comment around 2014 that there "wasn't a challenge any more"
They absolutely without a doubt gave us no chance.
How we were supposed to do anything when we weren't even there for 5 of them.
They were in the league when we absolutely left them standing last season.
