Market value can only matter what another club is willing to pay for them.

We had minimal interest while they were able to sell players for a high fee in the last year of their contracts. Ours meanwhile run down their contracts and risk leaving for nothing, wiping off said market value.

Market value isn’t really existent right now, until we have a proven track record of our players leaving and excelling in “bigger leagues”, clubs will be reluctant to pay top dollar for our assets.

It’s where the tarriers, annoyingly, have done well and are able to collect gold fees for their players. They’ve sold the likes of Armstrong, Wanyama, Van Dijk, Tierney, Dembele etc for good fees who have all done well for their new clubs.

As much as I’d rather keep our best players, when one does go we really need them to do a turn at their new side…

Teams are more likely to come after our youngsters with the success of Gilmour and now Patterson.

It's imperative we don't let anymore go before they have even made the first team for us.

Very simplistic way of looking at it.

wow amazing...........someone at the Scotsman has written a story after looking at transfermarkt values on their site which are always inaccurate

Next week they will bring you how they took East Fife to UCL glory on champ manager

Sterling reporting as always

Just like when Sky Sports used Football Manager attributes to compare players and signings. Most newspaper journos and columnists are just lazy cunts now.

Good bet that this will be the order for the final table. Well certainly 1 and 2.

Is it Morelos, Kent and Kamara that'll have a year left after next summer?

Think Goldson and McLaughlin would be the only ones Id renew.

Why?

McGregor just got POTY, Balogun just had a MOTM performance against the scum, Davis is probably the best midfield passer of the ball at the club, Arfield I could live with as long as we get Jack up and running.

Do I watch different games to other ppl or something?

McGregor - Will turn 40 in January. Last season. Time to give McRorie his chance.

Balogun - Getting on a bit at 33. We would do better nurturing a younger player.

Davis - 37 in January. Last season.

Arfield - 33 in November. Last legs. Not good enough.
