Gutted for the guy as doesn't look good. A couple of seasons ago, early in the Gerrard era, he was pretty much my man of the match every other game.

We always looked far more solid and had much more control when he was in the team.

If you look at our midfield with and without Jack, I’d say we have a better chance against Dortmund with him in the team. I don’t think there’s any doubt that we played our best football last season with him in the team.

If someone makes him out to be at an elite level they’re clearly exaggerating, but to have him at decent is just as daft the other way.

We’ve been beat once in 56 league games. Jack played 13 right at the start. Granted we didn’t concede a goal but we’re doing absolutely fine without him. We got through the European groups last season and this season with little or no input from him either. 
 

As far as I’m concerned he’s not even a squad player at this point. He’ll never be fit enough to play another 13 games for us over the next two years. It really is time to move on.

I thought he’d played more than that - 24 matches according to transfermrkt. 4 appearances in EL.

But yeah, we were doing absolutely fine without him. We were also playing better with him. If you don’t agree, fair enough, but it’s pretty clear to me.

Ryan Jack around the time of the league cup final a couple of years ago was certainly the best midfielder and arguably the best player in the league.

Extremely rare to be out for this long and get back to anywhere near the same level of player never mind a better one though.

This pish about changing his contract - fuck me, harsh much? Aye it's shite he's injured and we're paying for nothing at this stage but that's the game and it's not his fault ffs. 

Hopefully comes back stronger and proves his worth again.
