VAR

What we’ve seen with Walsh the past two weeks is he’s now not going to give a decision as he knows Var is there.

Hearts and our penalty are two of the clearest you could ever see yet gave neither.

A joke.

Why give decisions they know they'll get shite off the media for when they can simply bypass and let VAR make it.

That's going to the thoughts of officials in this country going forward.

It's the other way about, ref gives it Var corrects it

Yeah i know that, but if the ref is 50/50 on a decision then instead of stopping play it is better for the game if he lets it play and VAR pulls it back if needed, like the offside works now

It will be that VAR Lite system that we have ,FIFA developed a cheaper system to allow leagues that couldn’t afford the all singing and dancing version .

Funny we can only afford the cheap version but can afford the highest paid league CEO outside the big 5 leagues 🤔

A know what you're saying but unless it's a new variation introduced to VAR that I don't know about, the ref makes the decision and VAR decides if he's right or wrong.

Especially decisions that are stonewallers

A joke.

Right after not giving it, after the ball went out, he immediately started walking towards the VAR screen (whilst holding his earpiece waiting to be told to go over). He knew full well it was a penalty.

Even their manager said it way a blatant penalty.

I dont think anyone knows the handball rules now!

There will be no penalty if:

the ball touches a player's hand/arm immediately from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player.

the ball touches a player's hand/arm close to their body and has not made their silhouette unnaturally bigger.

a player is falling and the ball touches their hand/arm when it is between their body and the ground (but not extended to make the body bigger).

additionally, should the goalkeeper attempt to clear a ball from a teammate but fails, the goalkeeper is allowed to handle the ball.

There is not a doubt in my mind that VAR will be a net positive for us. We have been on the end of some absolutely woeful refereeing over the last few years with more incorrect calls going against us than for us. and that includes games we aren’t playing  in

Scottish football is going to fucking hate VAR and it will be demonised as Masonry at work when actually it is just levelling the playing field

Yes the VAR will go against us from time to time and so it should, but it will go for us far more often.

The refs in Scotland can be useless but long VAR checks aren't exclusive to them, just need to look at the Spurs game during the week were they took over 4 minutes to make a decision.

Personally think if you can't find cause to change the decision within 1 minute then it should be the original decision that stands.
