OrangeRab 2,764 Posted January 2, 2023 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Priority list would be 1) Bin everyone who isn’t good enough anymore: McGregor, Matondo, Wright, Sands, Davis 2) Move on some of the old or injury prone: Souttar, Helander, Roofe, maybe arfield who will be 35. The remaining few who are playing poor or look like their legs are gone have the rest of the season to prove themselves. Jack maybe Tav in that list. The rest have been poor but are at least capable of playing to a level needed of winning a title. And that gives you a realistic core of about 8-9 starters who are young and fit enough. And leaves Beale needing to sign about 4-5 quality players which is just about achievable. If we start getting rid of starting players like Kent and Lundstrum that’s going to probably be too big a mountain to climb in just 2 windows. But the old guard of Davis, Shagger, Jack need moved on. Arfield keep but only as an impact sub (albeit a very good one). The physio room gang of Roofe, Helander etc. need to be let go, which will naturally happen when contracts expire. Ideally we sell Kamara and Morelos in Jan and if we can get £8-10million for the two combined, you reinvest that in better replacements for CF and CM.
