It looked like clancy called it a foul, then when the players went to complain he told them to hold on and asked the VAR room who likely then called the same decision hence he gave the foul still, both clancy and walsh were at it

Var room don't adjudicate on fouls like this only whether ref has made a clear and obvious error.

If clancy has given it for grappling and a slight push then as soft and corrupt as it is Walsh has no case to intervene.

I disagree with that. It's Clancy's fault. He made the wrong decision. VAR can only overturn the ref's decision if it is clear and obvious. However, I'm not sure Walsh even looked at it. It was the fastest VAR decision ever!

McGregor committed 5 fouls. His first foul was yellow all day long, meaning his spat with Raskin results in a red.

Clancy is a cheat. I find it funny that only today are some (not you) waking up to the obvious. It's been going on for years.

It was clear and obvious.

I agree Clancy is a cheat.

The on pitch referee wasn't the problem today, they all avoid making decisions now. 100% on Walsh

Nah don't agree at all. They definitely do avoid making decisions since VAR but if that was the case today the goal would have stood until VAR potentially intervened if Clancy missed something. That's not what happened. Clancy MADE the decision today all on his own. All him mate.

He made the decision which was wrong, the whole point of VAR is to get these decisions right. Walsh had the benefit of watching it repeatedly and said it was the right call.

No. Walsh had the benefit of watching it repeatedly and said it wasn't a clear and obvious error by the ref. There's a difference.

It was a perfectly good goal IMO but lets not get confused with what the VAR remit is and it is not to re-referee games. The goal being disallowed was Clancy's decision to make and he fucked it.

VAR cannot reverse any decision other than offside.

Yes they can.

Walsh hasn't said its the right call. He can't influence based on whether he'd have given it or not. He can only establish whether it's a clear and obvious error which is typically a decision not given, something not seen, etc.

Clancy saw it all in full so there's nothing for Walsh to challenge, it's down to what Clancy interpreted from the contact between the 2 players. And Clancy the cheating bastard that he is saw it fit to give a foul against Morelos. He's the cheat, the var process here and Walsh aren't to blame.

Genuinely don't get how people still don't grasp what VAR is used for. It only decides on offsides. Anything else it still doesn't make the decision, it only asks the referee to look at the monitor if it thinks the referee has made a clear and obvious error.

No they can't.

The only decision VAR are allowed to decide upon is offside, as it is a binary decision.

Any other decision all they are allowed to do is to recommend the onfield referee reviews it.

Alfies goal was a goal

Aye the referee denied a goal, it was a clear and obvious error, it should have been overturned.

Same with if the ref sends a player off wrongly.

It seems you don't understand var at all mate 😂😂

In your opinion and in my opinion. It still doesn't mean Walsh agreed with the referee's on-field decision though. He can disagree with the decision but still think it wasn't clear and obvious.

100% on Clancy mate. You said he avoided making a decision. He didn't.

I understand well enough and agree it should have been overturned.

Clancy MADE the decision. He avoided fuck all.

Clancy saw enough to give a foul. Walsh can't re referee it, he can only ensure Clancy is happy he'd a good view and with the decision based on that.

If clancy has given it for a push, as ridiculous as it is, Walsh cant challenge it. If it's for a push, it's not a clear and obvious error, it's just the softest m9st corrupt excuse Clancy can find.

It's on clancy not var or Walsh.

Clancy called the foul.... then when Morelos rushed him you could see he was saying it was referred to VAR, which is why Alfie walked away to wait.... then according to Sky, VAR BACKED the clancy decision.

Corrupt top to bottom mate. VAR is ideal for cunts like Clancy. In the old days our players would have been right up in his face after a call like that..... now all he needs to say is "VAR review" and folk walk away and give him space.
