We need the CL money, if it means being battered every game in the group so be it.

Read on here a while back that getting Europa might be more beneficial in terms of picking up coefficient points. That in turn means more chance of World Club Cup and that apparently meant similar or better financial reward than Champions League.

Anyone know if that's still the current thinking?

Thing posted in that thread earlier claiming we aren’t remotely close to getting into the World Club Cup

If we do well in the Europa yes, but there is zero guarantee we will. CL qualification means more coefficient points than dropping into EL.

The financial reward for CL qualification far outweighs everything bar getting to the EL final.

and yet you're the one getting upset over a silly post from a few pages back

remember breathe and count

Fatboy lost to St Mirren last year, this could be an outlier. We will see tomorrow i suppose but i think we bounce back to form at Ibrox and start a run from there.

Weird myth seems to be developing that saturday was Beale’s first game. He’s a bad result against Servette and celtic away from the support completely turning on him at the start of September and he’s brought out the it isn’t my system that’s the problem line.

It’s worrying to say the least. He’s put all his faith in the no pace or width and play through the middle.

I dont think anyone has said it's his first game. They are saying it's the first game of the season and the first game following a massive rebuilding job.  The problem is it looks like he's done a really shite job.

Missed header. Borna left standing nowhere. Gets caught under his feet. No one else reacts to clear. Shite goal to lose. Not a howler by Souttar.

Amazes me how people are so easy on Souttar. If that's Tav or Lundstram it's a howler. It's a throw in. Has plenty time to react.

If Beale had any stones this would be the starting line up tomorrow and for the majority of our games. Fully expect the usual suspects in the usual positions to play though.

Looks better than what we went with pre season and Kilmarnock but again we have problems because we have brought in too many forwards and now have to fit them in to unnatural positions.

Danilo Lammers and Cantwell would all be much closer to Dessers in real life. That’s how I’d be telling them to play anyway.

If we get CL qualification we are pot 3. If we avoid Newcastle in the draw there is a good chance we could finish at least 3rd in the CL group stage and get EL knockout football anyway. Last season was a nightmare; we need to forget about it and assume we won’t have a CL campaign such as that one.

According to what was posted today we don’t

Don’t understand the last couple of posts on other thread. UEFA criteria says UEFA rankings and not CL points only. The point is FIFA don’t want multiple clubs from a few countries but want it spread across many countries. Same way as WC is not the best 32 nations that are there. they are therefore restricting the number of teams from any country to CL winners plus 1.  So as it stands England have 3, Spain 2 and then the remaining 7 being the next best 7 ranked teams who have not had someone from their country already selected. We are currently lying 12th on that basis., Brugge and Salzburg are pushing us.

if the winner of this years CL is not from a country that has already got a participant then this would also knock us out. This would mean a team outside the top 8 or 9 ranked leagues so highly unlikely.

it is based on last 3 years coefficient plus this coming season. We are currently on a minimum of 41, with Brugge and Salzburg on 37.

I do agree the UEFA have said the current basis is not locked in but unless FIFA change their current desire then UEFA would find it difficult to change.

Drop any more points before the old firm and he's done.

A defensive right footed left back in a set up that aims for most of its attacking play to be from high full backs?

Lammers and Danilo are likely to be mainly positioned within the width of the penalty box rather than where you have them out on the wing too.
