cascadeshrimp 1,471
no for me, i just don't see what he would bring apart from being Scottish and that's no a good enough reason but, maybe if he was out of contract(1 year left i think)
ZZed 4,510
I think he would be an expensive squad player and would probably not want to come and sit on the bench for long periods. I think we could use our money better.
Johnstone Burgh 1,653
£2m or less and I’d be for it. Good enough to score in this league, homegrown, better than most of our current strike force. theredhandofNewcastle

He's came on leaps and bounds since he was at Dundee United. A player who works on his game and he supports us. Better than Dessers and better than Roofe. £3 million is nothing in football today. It is for us RFC55 and ForeverAndEver
Ben10 2,294
Should have signed him three years ago. Not now, he's peaked.
DrLaudrup 4,723
It depends on the price. I think there is value in having good Scottish players in the squad. He’s not the same quality of finisher as Boyd but he’d batter goals in for us domestically number of chances we create. He work rate is often ignored too. He tracks back and does his bit as shown by the one he cleared off the line.
STEPPS BOY 74,692
A lot of noise around this tbh. Can see it happening.

Raligt 2,541
Yes he knows how to score against the dross of this league. We struggle to do that most of the time
BlueSuedeSambas 54,252
I think he would probably score goals for us, but I think he’s becoming a bit overrate. He’s had one strong goal scoring season in the past three seasons, and he hasn’t started this season particularly strongly.
centenarystandman 23
fuckin right we should
OrangeRab 2,907
If we’re in the title race in January window (properly in it). Then I could see that up to 2 million could be worth it for someone to hit the ground running if Dessers etc are still shit. Otherwise no. We need better and begin to at least try and lay the foundations for a young, hungry and talented squad to take us forward.
BlueKnight87 17,389
I've said yes. It's a gamble but every transfer is. Rather try someone this time that's showing he can already score goals in our league and hit the ground running.
Somemightsay7 2,496
He's nowhere near good enough for us. Take away his penalties and his record is very average - 10 league goals last season.

Swagger 8,274
Sums up the mess we are in that Shankland would be a huge upgrade Somemightsay7

East Enclosure Row N 2,837
Watched him at the weekend and he covered every blade of grass on the pitch. Shouting his team mates on and a born leader on the pitch. At 28, I wish we had signed him years ago. He'd be captain by now.
Scottywellhousetb 50,671
Don't know if it means much but I spoke to his auld man at work just 10 minutes ago and he said Rangers have never at any time made a single enquiry about his son. There was a bit of a clamour for us to sign him when he was scoring goals in the championship but if we had signed him then he wouldn’t have got near our side because we had Morelos and Defoe, and his record once he stepped up to the SPFL and then went to Belgium wasn’t even good enough for him to even be on our radar. ForeverAndEver 71,966
He played a fair bit of last season as a ‘10’. Scored against us and them, scored in 3/4 of their European games this season as well.
Malkytfp1 18,677
I would take a shot on shankland for his all round game rather than his goals. He works like fuck and is actually a more clever player than I thought. Surprisingly does well playing off a striker.
