We’re not going to be in a title race. But there’s still a massive amount of work to even get us ready for next season.

There’s still a good 5-6 players getting on the pitch that are nowhere near it

That second half inspired disgust and despair. But we can certainly improve, I won't be going anywhere near writing off the season, personally.

Yeah at the very least, most of them wouldn't make the bench in teams of yesteryear.

Forget going way back there isn't a player that would get in the starting 11 of the team that won 55. We've downgraded year on year since Gerrard left that's the problem.

Good first half, piss poor second.

Barron was the best player on the park, Balogun tried his hardest to let them attack us.

Big Phil’s army marches on.

Having not watched the game, was he good because he was good, or because the rest were that bad?

There’s no improving Wright, Matondo, McCausland, Dowell, Balogun, Souttar, Lawrence.

They’re just not at the level. It is what it is. We won’t challenge for the title.

But the season isn’t a write off. CL money, 2 cups and the development of the squad all massively important.

You must have been dreaming. And they'll sweep Hibs aside tomorrow. If you think this current squad will challenge for the title you aren't in denial you are on a different planet.

Anybody thinking this squad can challenge is delusional

That could easily ended up 2-2

We are just about the best of the rest. celtic will romp it as it stands

Has any player anywhere in the world ever got match fit / sharpness sitting on the bench. Just wondering what the point is of having Danilo on the bench. Would be better getting minutes with the B team.

Don’t understand it. Just what the fuck is going on

Absolutely nobody thinks this squad can challenge.

Obviously a good result but I’m raging at that second half. Time after time we fail to kill teams and make it difficult for ourselves. We could easily have drawn or lost that match today.

Clearly the side the finished the match won’t be our first choice 11. The first half was excellent but we had experience players second half against Motherwell youth due to their injuries and we played with zero composure. Experience players looked nervous and the usual suspects continue to let us down showing they are nowhere near good enough. McAusland etc continue to offer absolutely nothing. Tav is fine with good players infront of him as in first half but as soon as they are off he’s totally exposed. To have experienced Rangers players resorting to hopeful punts up the park at “home” against a shocking Motherwell side is unacceptable. We need to have far more compusure and better game management. I’d be furious in there in spite of the result.
