Rather a substantial conclusion to come to based on so little evidence.

What other conclusion is there to come to? From what ive read were haggling over anywhere from 100k to 500k which is pennies to the current owners. The fact that we havent payed it for a player the manager clearly wants means all this talk of heavy investment in the squad was nothing but talk.

You are assuming all of this on next to fuck all evidence other than that we bid twice.

Well even if you forget this one deal for this one player, where is the investment in the squad the board and its followers promised?

Bid for two players who were costing money, but we've ended up with a loan signing.

But I suppose we were just bidding for O'Halloran to destabilize St Johnstone, and the Diagouraga saga was just made up by the papers.

Any number of conclusions as to why the deal didn't go through.

What you've read is nothing but rumour in the press.

We don't know prices being talked about, the depth of MW's influence on the discussions (doubt it's a simple matter of MW saying I want this guy and then sitting back and seeing if he gets him), the behaviour of St Johnstone, whether St Johnstone actually wanted to sell, how interested the boy was, whether BK came up as an alternative during discussions with MO, whether the Board balked, whether he will still be coming at some point or not, ... any number of scenarios.

We know pretty much zero about why we don't have MOH. There's nothing clear about it at all. Until we hear it from MW or the Board, any reasoning behind MOH and BK is pretty much guess. So it is a big conclusion to come to from little evidence.

St Johnstone are sitting in 5th with 2 games in hand over 4th place, they will also fancy themselves to get into the league cup final, if I was their chairman no way would I sell MOH till the summer.

How do you know that agreement hasn't been reached to sell him to us in the summer with young Billy being brought as stop gap?

maybe we simply dont want him that much? maybe he is a "nice to have" at a certain price - but if it goes over that then we can wait for some one else?

Its Michael Ohalloran ffs. I cannot see this guy being the final piece in the MW jigsaw

Like someone Cushy said, we have signed 13 players and we have signed numerous staff members. Just because they said there would be investment doesn't mean Warburton needs to go out and spend millions of needless money.

The O'Halloran saga is a disgrace and an embarassment to the Club imo. And imo puts all these idiot boycotters in their place after all their talk of the board and King investing in the team, shambles.

What a lot of pish, plays right into your hands doesn't it? Perhaps we didn't think he was worth the money they wanted and went elsewhere.

Given it's been 7 months, the squad is progressing brilliantly. Night and day from 7 months ago. Losing one or two players (having brought in 16 now, in various kinds of deals) is not exactly surprising.

How well the squad is shaping up for the challenge of the SPL is another matter, and we'll only really get an idea of that after a good few games next season, when we'll find out how good some of these players really are.

How anyone can be anything but happy right now given where we were a short time ago is beyond me.
