I guess the gaffer doesn't see Silva as a wide option. Disappointed with that. He is too good to sit on the bench, even if he was rotten in the last game.

Why are some saying he was fouled?  The replays didn’t show any foul. There was about two feet between them when he went down like he’d been snipered. 

It’s a pen for me, shouldn’t have turned his back. Clearly we should have had two as well though, seems the rules changed midway through the game.

It definitely had that feeling about it.
Within 20 minutes of that game you could see that Lammers, his big expensive signing who was meant to be the creative hub which the whole thing centred around, didn’t fancy it at all and you were instantly hit with a feeling that maybe Beale had fucked the whole thing…and it only got worse from there.
Sounds really defeatist and like a complete exaggeration, but that opening game was so telling that whatever his grand plan was, it just wasn’t going to work.

I like Silva but his Kevin the teenager body language is annoying me.

Cantwell does the one thing others have failed to do this evening and not act like a headless chicken in the 18 yard box.

Before VAR it was almost an unwritten rule that if a striker got the shot away, a defender making a legit and reasonable attempt to block the shot could get away with a foul on the follow through from the shot. Pre-VAR you very rarely seen them given.
However, as you say, anywhere else on the park, it is a foul and that is what VAR considers. It is a penalty.

Fell into that category where had the ref called a penalty it would have stood but because he didn’t there wasn’t solid enough contact to be a clear and obvious error. Card for diving was harsh though.

Was excellent end of last season. Poor under Beale at start of season when most were. Injured under clement and average when he came back from injury for a spell now back to being excellent again. Think people are way to critical of him.

After starting to understand the role Clement wants him to play rather than what he thought he should be doing, he is really starting to produce on the pitch. Which is good because it means he is listening and learning. 

Love the energy he brings, and a fair amount of quality too. He changed the tempo for us last night, without that I reckon we'd have struggled for the win.

Did Sky spend 15 minutes discussing Nawrocki’s tackle at the weekend? It was no worse than Sterling’s tonight and no action taken. Sky don’t even try to hide it any more. Brilliant win tonight and the noise was incredible. P.s. Silva has to start. We should be building our team around him (at least until he fucks off in a few months).
