Don't doubt his skill and he has a decent shot on him. But I doubt at 31 he will get back to a fitness level where he needs to be. Too big a risk.

Think this is the hardest position to scout for. Can't think of anyone for loan or sub 3 million that screams out either.

Not convinced he’s been fit since he got here. Trying too hard to please when he should have been building his strength.

Get him fully fit, a mini close-season if you like, couple of reserve games and see how he goes for final thirty once or twice.

At his best, he’s too good to throw away without seeing what difference Gerrard and McAllister make to him.

Was being played wrongly as the sitting midfielder. Will be a good addition to the team when fit but should only be brought in when fully fit. No need to rush guys back when we now look like we have a proper squad that we can use

The OP makes a good point, last season Dorrans was trying to play every midfield position at once, with Coulibaly and Jack behind him he could play an advanced role and be creative knowing he doesn’t have to worry as much defensively.

Dorrans should be only brought back into the team when fully fit.

Previous managers tried in him that sitting midfield role which he doesn't suit.

I think he could still contribute in an advanced midfield role.

All this shit about how he might be able to do a job when he's fully fit and in a better team...could've said the same for most of the dross we signed last year, they all had something about them but when it came to cutting it for us on a weekly basis, they didn't have it in them.

Can't afford to be sitting waiting, until next year now, on a guy who could maybe possibly do a job in a different position to last season...should just try and cut our loses on him now (if possible) & focus elsewhere, another player well past his prime that we're stuck with (on a very healthy wage I'm guessing)

Could be true, my mate spoke to him on Sunday and he said he was seeing a specialist this week.

He had a few good seasons for West Brom more than 3 years ago and has been pretty rotten since, don't see what people seem to see in him at all.
