Big thank you to Stevie G and his team

Needless to say Gio's mark was all over last nights side but it's also fair to say that where we’ve been in the last few years, building up our strength in Europe, that quality stood out a mile in the second legs of the 2 qualifying rounds this season.

I always remember Andy Haliday saying the first thing Gerrard said to the players the day he arrived was that the standards in Europe have been unacceptable and we will be expected to go beyond the group stages every season now.

Nice touch too that the draw for our return to the champions league is being made for a final at the Ataturk stadium in Istanbul where Stevie G lifted big luggy :pipe:

Agreed. Brought back standards and credibility. Took us as far as he could, got the club 5m comp and Gio took it to the next level.

The level of consistency and results we have been achieving since SG came and GVB continued is the exception, not the rule.

Rangers doing well or even respectfully for 5 consecutive years in Europe only happen under Advocaat and McLeish in the last 40 years anyway.

The league cup final was the only sour note for me but when you compare that to the rest
