I like McLaughlin but just another example of how we shun our academy despite a perfect OF debut by McCrorie.

Mccrorie also kept a clean sheet against Alashkert, I thought he gave a really good account for himself, but obviously not.

I hope McLaughlin has been told he’ll be number 1 when McGregor retires this summer, fine as back up but he’s not a number 1.

Mccrorie will probably end up at Aberdeen replacing Joe Lewis to reunite with His brother.

They’ve only announced giving McLaughlin a new deal to deflect away from our lack of transfer activity and poor form ?

That’s a mental take tbh

Why not announce it over the last few days when the photos have been sitting waiting for release?

No idea mate but surely nobody at the club says “right the fans aren’t happy let’s announce a new contract for our back up goalkeeper, that’ll keep the dogs from the door”.

That’s ridiculously fucking stupid imo

Yes, in the midst of bad news and the fans complaining, football clubs would never put out some 'good' news in a bid to shift the focus a little.

You think somebody at our club thinks that announcing a new deal for a back up goal keeper is going to take the focus off us not spending money in the transfer window?

More yesterday's utter shit-show. Take a look at any of the nation newspapers websites this morning. Rather than criticial comments on how comically bad some of our players performed yesterday, the main Rangers story in McLaughlin getting a new deal.

What;s more mental is, in a business where clubs will sit on new contract announcements for days (or sometimes even weeks) before going public as they pick the best time to get the most attention, that you think the club decided 10am on a Sunday morning was the ideal time to be announcing this.

Anyone who thinks retaing our second choice keeper who hardly gets a game amounts to a new signing or equivalent is truly retarded.
