Popular Post LegendofCoop 17,487
Decided to avoid the airport as thought it might be rammed. Decided to go to a local beauty spot to see her Majesty leave Scotland for the very last time. Didn't expect it to head as far as we were. Unbelievable feeling. Thought I'd share my pics for those who couldn't get there. Fitting that the sun was shining for her, beautiful send off! Almost half of the Ibrox capacity? They're having a laugh, I've never seen queues like the ones I saw yesterday around the Meadows etc The queues at the Meadow were mind blowing, what a fantastic turnout. I arrived at the end of the queue for 10pm last night with my wife, we finally got to pay our respects at 3.00am in St.Giles. Got back home at 5am and both off to work at 7am. Absolutely knackered today but was amazing to play a wee part in paying our respects to Her Majesty, in what is the biggest historical event to happen in my lifetime. So proud of the thousands of Scots who have come out to pay their respects to the Queen. That is the Scotland that I was born in and is an integral part of Great Britain. Respect and gratitude to everyone involved. Definitely. In a weird way it's made me feel proud to be Scottish after a long time of being apathetic about that because it's been hijacked by nationalism. Being in Edinburgh yesterday and watching the rest on TV, showed the level of affection the Scots felt for her too. Even rancid people like NS have shown respect for her, maybe through gritted teeth, but it's still be shown and hopefully sends a message to her rabid supporters surfsup2, falkirkNS, JCDBigBear and 7 others

Popular Post cpm1979 202
We joined the queue just after 19:00 and got in the cathedral not long after midnight, hearing all sorts of times while waiting, "you'll get in inbetween 3am-5am, 7am+" We went there to show respect, that lady gave us 70+ years of her life for us, so couple of our hrs was nothing.
