I'd like Johnston but he's not going to come to us if he's sitting on the bench all season behind Tav, especially if he has other options where he would be a starter in a better league.

If he’s going to a top 5 league it’s highly unlikely he’s going as a starter tbh.

Tav had seen off all challenges.

Patterson, Devine, Zukowski, (Balogun) Polster,  Flanagan, Hodson

Best we can hope for is a project that gets limited minutes or cup games/cover for injury

He is here till 2025.

Patterson is the only real challenge of sorts. He's largely had a free run

I know mate,

It's pretty poor how little we have invested in the position even as a slight challange to Tav.

He has just been too consistent,  can see him slowing now though and we need to manage his game time more. Same on the other side with Barasic.

We can't rely on 2 30+ wing backs to be out main attacking weapons - while asking them to also cover defensively

I never realised until the other day that Zukowski is still a Rangers player and is only on loan.

Tav and Goldson have benefited from being English and getting a break every international week. But they're fitness won't last forever, and it's folly to rely on it. Souttar and able deputy for Goldson but need an option at right back.

Lots of hard work done here. Kouame who has been rumoured over the last month, Yates who has popped up as a recent link, Maja who has been previously linked under Gerrard and Cho who was linked in January.

Great effort from the Record as always.

Maja who apparently isn’t even out in contract like they state because Bordeaux exercised an option on his contract in September

Signing a Guy who will be 31 this year to play second fiddle to a guy who will be 32 would just sum up our football operations.

As others have said, Buy a younger player with a view to him gradually taking over from Tav in next 18 months.

Or do that with Devine?

He’d be third choice then.

The only way the 30 year old Greek would make sense would be if he was coming in as back up due to Devine going on loan for a season or 18 months.

Kent apparently signing with Fenerbahce.

Horrendous move for him after how he played in Europe last season thought a German side would’ve taken him, his probably the move he deserves after his pathetic performances this season.
