and if I was and held a season ticket for nearly 40yr attending home and away and Europe when (I can ) and yet you would still deem me not a Rangers supporter?

I agree with what @McEwan's Lager posted in the other thread - it's up to the SFA to ensure that the National team is one that can be followed by everyone. Explicitly outward expressions of political beliefs in a hugely divided country shouldn't be allowed at matches.

Would have been better if a journalist with an actual spine had asked about the Harry Kane chants, that one couldn't be brushed off as banter. Or indeed the chants about the queen, as someone had highlighted earlier. The Kane one would easily fall foul of some of the laws up here though, I'm sure.

I don’t know how he’ll answer that, but when other songs are sung, I don’t really do anything apart from watch the game. The songs don’t upset me, cause me any offence, make me angry, or anything. When I was a teenager I sang all the songs - maybe understood the background to some, maybe not to others. But they’re of no interest or relevance to me now. I accept that these songs are part of Rangers and have absolutely no issues with that - it would be weird to do so.

As an aside, I’ve mentioned on here my sons (10 and 13) both have season tickets. They have started to sing bits of songs - just picking up words here and there - that aren’t directly Rangers songs - particularly the younger one. Now as that progresses, as it undoubtedly will, I’ll be paying attention to what they sing, and I’ll ask them if they know what the songs mean and explain them if they don’t. Then they’ll get to decide what they sing, with me, at the moment, having the final decision. Having said that I might be told to gtf in a few years if they’d rather go to the games with their mates, and they’ll sing what they like - just like I did 🤷
