I get why it’s easy to fall into the “Beale fucked the summer transfer business” narrative (and I have been guilty of it myself) but we need to stop pretending like Beale was given the club credit card to go on a shopping spree while everyone else fucked off to play golf for the summer. Yes the board sanctioned the signings but they will have been guided by Beale and the scouting department on which players to sign, so for me Park (as a senior member of the scouting team who would have had a large say in the transfer strategy with of DofF at the club) is every bit as tarnished by the shambles of the summer and it is a good sign we are moving on from that clusterfuck by identifying and removing those responsible. I'm old skool and actually like the idea that the manager has the strongest hand. He's the one tasked with getting a tune out of what is assembled and so should have the final say on recruitment or no......but it isn't the way of the world these days. Clearing a legacy of failure. Reality is our scouting and signing have been abysmal for many windows. None of these people deserve to continue. But showed up well in some of the highlights across the season, thought he was decent against us going forward in the game at Dens.
