We're talking about the physicality of the game in Scotland, not any of the other attributes.

Their forward keeps himself by and large out of the game, doesn't really get many touches in build up play or physical challenges. Then looks for the fast movement to get space and a chance at goal. (Quite clinical too.)

Our system doesn't allow for that and tbh other than Defoe we haven't had many intelligent enough to play that way in many years. As a support, I'm not sure we'd tolerate it either.

Neither player is physical but one is a success because he's very good at what he does in the system he does it in, the other simply isn't.

We’ve got to get as many of this squad off our hands as possible. Don’t even entertain the thought of keeping him - great he’s doing well might get our money back

Jack, Roofe,Barasic and Lammers already a big saving in wages.

Will never forget his bewildered look on his face as the whole ground booed the substitutions in the first old firm of the season. Looked genuinely terrified to come on to the park and at that point he was finished here for me

Imagine slating the Eredivisie as a reason Lammers is doing well, scoring in 7 on the trot (8 goals in total) player of the month and playing in a position we never played him in despite him playing the majority of his career as a CF.

The top 5 in that league we’d struggle against just now
PSV, Feyenoord, Twente, Alkmaar and Ajax.
id have him back because he’s better than most of our dross.

our league is absolutely no better than the Eredivisie. Stop kidding yourself on

It's becoming impressive. We should sell...but we have a guy who's scored 10 in 4 months in Holland should we be playing him? If it was a potential signing we'd be impressed

I wanted Lammers to work here as he looks good on top form but there’s no way we don’t sell if we make our money back on him.

That just goes to show you that we shouldn't always be blinded by stats, it takes more than just being a good player to make it at clubs as intense as ours, the mentality needs to be there too.

Agree on league quality - but playing for us is different especially for forwards - got 11 players mostly defending for their lives for 30+ games a year.  Totally different ask

Not sure all the teams we play “defend for their lives”

Most of them give us a run for our money. Them days are well gone

But even in most of those games they’ll have 2 shots/2 goals vs our 20/1 goal basically - last few weeks excepted, we generally are up against teams happy with a draw and who are massive underdogs.  Different role being a forward when you’ve no space

Most Rangers thing ever when it’s actually Twente that sign him and he rocks up to Ibrox in the CL qualifier to score a hattrick

Crowd would only have to boo him once and he'd shite it.
